Double room available in Cowes, a short walk from the town centre, on the No.1 bus route, with street parking -- no restrictions, and it's a safe area. Easy access to shops and the cycle track to Newport.
I am looking for one occupant only.
The house is an 1890s 3BR terrace, comfortable and welcoming, slightly boho and artsy. It is 'lived in', not perfect, but there is central heating and all the plumbing works. I live here with one shy cat who dislikes most men. She warms up to women gradually.
Downstairs there is a semi-open plan living room with woodburning stove, a separate dining area, a small but well equipped kitchen, and a downstairs bathroom with bath + shower. The bedrooms are upstairs. Outside there is a small garden with a patio and a shed. There is space to leave a bicycle overnight.
The room has a standard double bed (long enough for someone up to about 6ft/1.8m tall), a chest of drawers, hanging space and shelf space. Bedding provided unless you prefer your own. The back window overlooks more of next door's back garden than mine, with a distant view over the Medina to the hills of East Cowes -- a prime spot for rainbows.
The layout of the house means that a certain amount of contact is unavoidable, so the other occupant needs to be someone I get on with reasonably well. This is not the same as living in each other's pockets.
Ideally I am looking for a part-timer (the rent will be adjusted accordingly), but I would accept the right person full time. I will also consider short lets.
There is wifi but no TV.
I like things quiet. I don't slam doors, play loud music, shout from room to room, have long phone calls very early/late or do housekeeping at strange hours.
