Seeking an awesome social (and social justice-minded) flatmate to share a gorgeous three bedroom flat with a garden for entertaining lovely friends. Ideal for someone new to London looking to move into an already established home, just BYOB (bring your own bed)
Our welcoming home is tucked down a quiet side street in Stoke Newington with easy transport links, that’s also literally 150m away from the most vibrant restaurants, bars and queer nightlife in Dalston. 8 min walk to Dalston Kingsland, 10 min cycle to Clissold Park and the Castle climbing gym.
You’d be moving in with me, K, my cool 17 year old daughter (who is there every second week) and our two cuddly cats.
The flat is beautiful, with a great flow, full of art and good vibes. Your room is a spacious double with a bay window and built-in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom with bath/shower. (Otherwise unfurnished)
The lounge and fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor are light and bright, opening out onto a large outdoor space ideal for entertaining through the summer. There are two full bathrooms, so no-one ever needs to wait for the shower.
In terms of facilities, we’ve got a dishwasher, washer and dryer, stove, oven and brand new fridge. Also: a Ninja air-fryer, Nintendo Switch and AppleTV and a bunch of boardgames.
We love entertaining from cute dinners with interesting friends to sprawling garden parties, creative salons, boardgame nights, and cosy movies on the couch.
A bit more about us: I’m a novelist and screenwriter originally from South Africa. K is doing her A levels, studying politics, psychology and literature.
We’re looking for someone brilliant, social and considerate, self-reliant and curious, politically progressive and ideally queer. Bonus points if you have a green thumb and a vision for the outdoor space.
Please note bills are not included and run to about £200- 250 additional, depending on electricity use, including council tax, internet, water and gas and elec and a brilliant cleaner for 3 hours once a week.
NB: I am a tenant not the landlord, so all credit checks etc will need to be completed with her.
