Double unfurnished room available on top (3rd) floor of 4-bed house, with bathroom shared with one other person.
The house is in a super quiet gated mews just off Lordship Lane. It’s set back from the road with lovely neighbours. The area itself is a good mix of being suburban and London, and has easy access to Peckham, Brixton, East Dulwich, Camberwell.
It’s about a 15-20 mins walk from Forest Hill station. Bus stops for the 185, P4, 176 and 363 are right outside -- the latter of which (176 and 363) are 24-hour. It also has an ideal setup for cycling with hooks inside, as well as additional bike racks behind our communal gate. We also have a small garden out the back with a climbing/bouldering wall.
Dulwich Park & Village, Sydenham Wood and Horniman Museum & Gardens are all within a 15-min walk radius. As well as what’s in Forest Hill there are some great pubs like the East Dulwich Tavern, Blythe Hill Tavern -- all of which are a quick bus journey away.
If you want to cycle, you can get to Brixton in 20 minutes by bike, and Peckham in 15. Commuting to central London takes about 45 minutes if you go through Burgess Park, which makes it really manageable.
You will be living with Christian, an avid cyclist working in marketing; Theo, a climbing instructor and rope-access technician; and Damien, a musician that works a bar during nights.
The room is unfurnished except for the large brown chest of drawers, but happy to negotiate and leave things here if needed.
Bills are sorted by ourselves, and it is currently around £150 per month on top of rent each for gas, water, electricity, council tax and Internet. Council tax band F
Everything is done through Haart who are pretty good with fixes, and our landlord is very straightforward to deal with too if we need to. I have lived here three years and will miss it a lot!
