**This is a Homeshare opportunity **
**£240 per month**

We are delighted to offer a lovely Homeshare opportunity for someone to live very comfortably and affordably in West London, close to shops, cafes and transport links, in return for providing around 10 hours a week of practical support around the home and companionship, and an overnight reassuring presence to an older gentleman.

THE HOMESHARE:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£240 per month), we are looking to match our well educated and sociable homeowner with a bright and friendly female sharer (aged between 25 and 40) who is happy to provide some daily companionship and practical support, and a reassuring presence at night. No personal care is required or permitted.

Our homeowner is in his early-80’s, a widower and an intelligent, positive and active gentleman who is very close to his family and his daughter lives nearby. He has had a varied and interesting life with a background in teaching, farming and antiques and is now active in the University of the Third Age teaching art and classics. Following a fall, he has slowed down a bit although still likes to attend performances, and at home he enjoys listening to the radio, keeping up with current affairs and politics and visiting the local shops and cafes.

Our homeowner has always been a people person, particularly enjoying the company of younger people, and is now looking to Homeshare with a cheerful, kind and positive mature student perhaps studying for a master’s or PhD.

Someone who is responsible and reliable, pragmatic and helpful, who is interested in arts and culture and would enjoy some daily catching up, cooking and sharing a meal and interesting conversation together maybe a few times a week (our Homeowner prefers non vegetarian food and has a weekly supermarket delivery). Someone who might be happy to pop out with him to a local café or to the cinema now and then.

Practical support will include helping with IT or technology issues or phone calls, occasional grocery shopping, picking up the odd prescription, watering the plants and generally helping with any tasks that the homeowner finds difficult but this is mostly about some friendly companionship and overnight reassurance.

Our Homeowner is hard of hearing so clear spoken English is a priority.

*No pets please* * A non-smoker only*

We are looking to match this Homeshare opportunity soon.
If it is of interest, please get in touch with us telling us about yourself, your work/study situation, and interests, and particularly why you consider that you would be well suited to this opportunity. Thank you.

** Cost: £240 per month **

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a small contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax.

Homeshare Living is a social enterprise facilitating Homeshare matches in London and Hertfordshire. We match people who live alone and need some practical support and company, with mature adults wanting affordable accommodation who are happy to provide some companionship and practical support in return for a safe place to live.
