Double Room in Beautiful New Town Home – Looking for a Friendly, Tidy Housemate

Hi! I’m Devon, a 34-year-old live-in landlord looking for the right person to share my three-bedroom home in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town.

The location:-
The house is in an amazing central location – around a 2-minute walk from St Andrew Square and, perhaps more importantly, 1 minute from Pickles (what could be better?).
Despite being right in the centre of town, it feels like a proper home rather than just a city-centre flat.

The house & room:-
The house is modern, spacious and has recently been freshly painted. The available room comes furnished with:
Double bed
Built-in wardrobe
Chest of drawers

There are two bathrooms, one of which would essentially be yours.

Downstairs is fully open-plan, with a modern kitchen and induction hob, and there are also two outdoor garden areas to enjoy. I’m currently in the process of doing one of the gardens up to make it an even nicer space for relaxing and spending time outside.

I like to keep the house clean, tidy and comfortable, so I’m looking for someone who feels the same and will treat the space as their home too. I also have a lovely cleaner who comes weekly, and the cost of this is included in the rent.

A little about me:-
I’m not just looking for someone to occupy the spare room – ideally, I’d love to find someone I genuinely get along with and can hopefully become friends with.

I’m sociable and enjoy having a relaxed, friendly home environment where we can chat, hang out or occasionally do things together, while obviously still having our own lives and space.

I’m really into fitness and spend a lot of my free time doing spin, run club, Pilates and going to the gym. It would be great to live with someone who enjoys some of the same things and might fancy joining me from time to time – although this definitely isn’t a requirement!

I’ll also be starting a Pilates instructor course towards the end of this year/start of next year, so there may even be some free Pilates classes on offer while I’m training!

My mum has two very friendly dogs who I occasionally look after, so you’ll need to be comfortable having dogs around from time to time. They’re incredibly friendly, cuddly and generally just very happy to see everyone.

What I’m looking for:-
Ideally, I’d love to find someone who is:
Clean and tidy
Friendly and sociable
Respectful of the house and each other’s space
Looking for a home rather than simply somewhere to sleep
Happy with dogs occasionally being around

The initial agreement would be for a maximum of 6 months or less, but if we’re both happy and things are working well, I’d be very open to discussing extending it.
