I am currently a 3rd Year university student living in a flat with 3 other students. I am going abroad for a student exchange semester so my room will be avaliable from January to April/May 2027. I am looking for someone to replace me during this time.
This is a large double room located in Marchmont, Edinburgh. The room has a square footage of 22.5m2 with wooden floors, built in bookcases and a bay window. It is fully furnished with a double bed, couch, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a desk and desk chair. I will be moving all of my own belonging out prior to the rooms avaliabilty.
Besides the room, the flat has one kitchen/living room and one bathroom. There is a garden avaliable to the apartment block and on street parking (council permit required). The flat falls under as student accomodation so therefore does not pay any council tax (unless you aren't a student where you would be required to pay). The flat is on the second floor of the apartment block with no lift.
Bills are not included in monthly rent but come to around £60 pcm.
I am looking for friendly, tidy student or nonstudent who is avaliable for the first few months of 2027. As I myself wont be there, I am looking for someone to live with my current flatmates. My flatmates are 3 other Yr 3 students studying Illustration, Ancient History and Archaeology and Theology. We all like playing MarioKart, chatting in the kitchen and watching films together (at home and at the cinema). We enjoy spending time together but also give each other our own space and time for a quiet evening.
There is no cleaner but as a flat we have a weekly chore rota with cleaning materials present. Cupboard and fridge and freezer space is included.
There are a few buses (No 5, Strathearn Road, No 24 and No 9 Thirlestane Road) that take you towards the city centre with little walking distance to the stops.
Location in relation to the city:
Sainsburys Local and SPAR store - 5 min walk
The Meadows - 15 min walk
Princes Street - 19 min bus ride (Thirlestane Road - No 9)
George Square and Edinburgh University Library - 20 min walk
Edinburgh College of Art - 20 min walk
Kings Buildings Edinburgh University Campus - 17 min bus ride (Thirlestane Road - No 9)
Thank you for your time, and I hope you like the look of the flat.
