Looking to fill my old flatmate's room who is leaving to buy their own place. It's a beautiful Scottish flat with lots of space, a well-kept garden, lovely neighbours, and right across the Meadows in Marchmont.
I'm 28, current doing a PhD at Edinburgh University in Machine Learning. I work and read lots, but make time for other hobbies - basketball, climbing, hiking, travel, cooking, woodworking, whatever other phase I'm in. Also, shamefully (and subjectively) tooting my own horn here - I am an extremely easy flatmate. I'm considerate, keep things tidy, never have crazy afters (don't mind if you do), can receive communication directly, and am very understanding.
I like my flat to feel like a home. (If you have ways to decorate this living room that’s a big plus!). I’m looking for someone who I can live comfortably and socially with: always up for a chat, occasional meals together, movie nights, out for a drink, etc.
I'm ideally looking for a student for council tax reasons, but more importantly I'm looking for someone who is good to live with and wants a welcoming home. This will be just as much your flat as mine so I'd like someone on the same page!
Some logistics:
- Rent: £850pm each.
- Rent is split equally among us. My room is the smaller one (second in the photos). Happy to stay here but open to swapping.
- We know the landlords personally. Hence the well priced rent (relatively). They are very responsive and plan to rent for the next 2-3 years.
- Official joint tenancy agreement (not a sublet). You'll need a guarantor, proof of income, and a new deposit.
- Council tax band E. Ideally looking for another student so we're fully exempt. If not I would not make you pay more than your share. I would cover the extra that it would cost - which amounts to a 50% discount for my share.
