I’m looking for a pleasant, tidy, responsible and independent housemate to share my new-build home.
It’ll just be the two of us so ideal for someone who wants to live in a quiet, beautiful and comfortable home that they won’t need a rota to fully enjoy!
YOUR ROOM
The room comes with primary use of the main bathroom (I have my own bathroom), which is right next to your lovely double room. The bedroom is 3.3m x 3.0m, including the built-in wardrobe which has full-height mirrored sliding doors and plenty of storage space. There is also a desk and chair in the bay window space and you are welcome to work from home up to 3 days each week. Your room is on the first floor, at the front of the house.
THE HOUSE
My home is my sanctuary so I like to keep it clean, calm and beautiful! Outdoor shoes are removed at the door, as white flooring seemed like a good idea at the time. 😅There’s a spacious kitchen/diner, and the cosy lounge has a 50-inch telly. Plus there’s a lovely little garden that gets a decent amount of sun.
I work remotely so the 3rd ‘bedroom’ is my home office. I work very long hours and eat at random times so you’ll often have the shared areas to yourself.
The external doors are covered by video doorbells/motion cameras but the area is safe and pleasant and the neighbours are really lovely.
PARKING
There are currently plenty of free street parking spots opposite the house, and it may be possible for you to rent an off-road space from a neighbour if you’d prefer that.
LOCATION/TRAVEL/WORK
The house is on the Tithebarn link road. It’s 3.5 miles to the city centre and about 90 seconds to the M5’s junction 29. Within 5 mins’ walk is a Tesco Express, a cafe/farm shop, and a hotel with a nice terrace bar.
PureGym is 5 minutes’ drive away, as are Sainsbury’s, LIDL & ALDI. IKEA & big Tesco aren’t much further - if you don’t drive, I will always ask if you need anything or want to come along for a supermarket shop.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
There’s a B bus stop (to the city centre) 2 mins’ walk away. Exeter Science Park is 10 mins’ walk away, where you can catch the 4 bus (to the airport/city centre) that runs until midnight - great for drinks in town! Pinhoe train station is 15 minutes’ walk away, with direct trains to London Waterloo.
WORK
Exeter Science Park, the Met Office, EDF Energy and Grenadier Business Park are all within walking distance.
ABOUT ME
Exeter has always been my home but I’ve lived around the world and I’m Ghanaian on my mum’s side.
I’m friendly and chatty but I work from home with international clients so I can have Zoom calls any time between 7am and 12pm - your room is at the other end of the house so this won’t disturb you! When I’m home and not working I need to relax and recharge so I appreciate a quiet home atmosphere and I do practically all of my socialising outside of the house…otherwise I’d never leave!
I spend my spare time out with friends - good food and drink, or exploring Devon’s beautiful spaces…you are also welcome to join me when I go on sunrise/sunset walks, spend evenings at the beach or on a trip to some random beautiful place that I find on Instagram! I’ll always respect your time/space though so don’t ever feel obliged.
