SHORT TERM ONLY initially - from 31 March until 25th April, then long term after 2 May 2026.
Note - you can stay very short term in April - so we would accept bookings from 4 days, and would charge £35 per night, if the booking is less than 2 weeks.
We are looking for a single person or a couple to take this room while we await for friends who will be staying 7 days from 25th April - 2 May. After 2nd May, the room is available again on a long term basis for a single person.
The double room (located in a large Victorian house close to Manor House tube station) is very light and airy with two large Victorian sash windows and faces south. Sorry the photos were taken at night - it really is a lovely light bedroom !
The house is a large double fronted 3 storey Victorian house with a large wooded garden.
The house is split in two, with a separate lounge and kitchen upstairs for the lodgers. and downstairs there is a separate kitchen and lounge for the owners (3 adults - aged 28, 26 and 21) share the ground floor kitchen and lounge.
The shared spaces are the entrance, hallway and bathrooms - there are three bathrooms and also a separate toilet on the ground floor.
The house currently comprises, a mixture of American, South African, Kiwi and English lodgers.
Current occupants are all young professionals (civil engineer, mechanical engineer, lawyer, economics, business) with a range of interests – so sports (open water swimming, climbing and running), environment and the arts, plus the relaxation of watching movies from the shared lounges.
Whist we like to respect everyone's privacy, we also like to be sociable too - so the occasional group meal (in the weekend) and a movie night are great ways to unwind and share a glass of vino. Note: we are not a "party house" as we all have to work during the week.
So a friendly and respectful home that hopefully you will feel happy to join !!
Kitchen cleanliness is the recipe to happiness - so we looking for someone who is quick to clean up after themselves, and to share in the communal cleaning tasks - especially taking out the rubbish and most importantly -recycling of rubbish, which is mandatory in Hackney - the borough of the house.
If you like to cycle to work, your bike can be stored in the back garden (for added security).

The double room is located on the First floor of our Victorian home with a south facing aspect.
Room contains:
1) one double wrought iron bed.
2) one chest of drawers
3) Free standing wardrobe
5) Work desk and office chair
6) Storage shelves (in fireplace alcove)
Location:
• House is close to Finsbury Park and Clissold Park, plus Stoke Newington. Highbury and Islington
• Only 100 metres from The Castle indoor/outdoor climbing centre
• Only 100 metres from the West Reservoir, a wonderful and clean OPEN WATER SWIMMING LAKE in London.
• Only 5 mins walk to the local ATHLETIC TRACK and TENNIS COURTS in Finsbury Park
Transport
• TWO tube lines - Victoria and Piccadilly Lines.
• Only 3 minutes walk to Manor House tube (Zone 2) and 30 seconds to bus stop (141 and 341) at the end of the street. Also only 7 minute walk to Finsbury Park tube station.
The House:
• Three showers (one with spa bath)
• Shared Kitchen – with oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer
• Shared lounge – with coffee table and TV
• Large garden plus patio– BBQ facilities, garden furniture and space to store your bike if you have one.
The Garden: is mature plants with lawn, patio with garden furniture and BBQ facilities, plus many fresh herbs from the garden in summer.
Price : £240 per week (single person) includes all Bills. If a couple, then the price is £280 per week:
• All Bills (Gas, power, water, council tax, TV licence)
• Wireless Internet –plus office with printer/scanning/photocopying facilities available.
• Virgin Media TV – includes Sky sports, Sky movies - using the TV in the shared lounge.
• Concierge facilities for delivery of your parcels etc.. (hours vary but available most days)
Deposit: There is a £50 (per key) key deposit - refundable upon safe return of the key(s).
All Rent is payable in advance. Photo ID is required for UK government purposes plus your and our security.
Non-smoking policy : the whole house, garden (front and back) and balconies are all non-smoking zones. If you do smoke, you will need to go for a stroll outside.
What we need from you:
• Rent in advance for your stay (Note: House key with be given at the same time as payment is received)
• Bond: A £50 key deposit (per key) is the only bond you pay, which you will get back when you leave and return the key
