This is a newly renovated house, hidden away from the road and very close to Wanstead Park.
The ground floor has a very spacious new kitchen with dishwasher, big oven and hobs, and lots of kitchen utensils. There's a fridge and freezer unit in a separate utility room with a washing machine and hopefully soon a dryer! The table can host up to 8 guests for dinner and I love cooking, coming together occasionally with friends over drinks and dinners and hope you do too. The living room has a lot of natural light, a very comfortable couch and day bed, a record player with speakers and there's space for some more furniture (eg storage, projector,...) There's no TV in the living room. There's space for shoes and coat hangers at the entrance and a WC too. Under the big green stairs there's more storage space.
First floor has a big landing, perfect for reading or working a little bit from home. Next to it is your double bedroom, it comes furnished with a double antique bed with comfortable mattress, mattress topper and pillows. It currently does not yet have a wardrobe but can be discussed/arranged. You have two windows in the room (one tilts and opens, the other is closed) and a big double farm door leading to your balcony to watch sunsets, read your book or have your morning coffee looking over the garden or watch the trains pass by.
There's a bathroom with a massive cast iron bath, a shower with rainshower, sink and toilet. There's a second bedroom (mine) and another room getting ready to be made into another spare room/office.
The Area:
Based between Forest Gate and Leytonstone, the area is quiet with the massive Wanstead Park and flats leading into Epping Forest. Perfect for walks, long runs, cycling,... There's a couple of really nice coffee places, a natural winebar, taproom just on the doorstep. It's a 15/20 min cycle to Hackney Wick and 8 minute walk to the Elizabeth Line, taking you to Central London in 20 minutes.
The house is located next to the railway, trains are surprisingly quiet and fun to watch and wave at the drivers, it's located within a closed yard and very safe as the house has two gates to go through. (as you'll notice, it is not visible on Google Maps Streetview) It's really important to me to be friendly to our neighbours that work in the yard as it is a shared space.
You:
I'm looking for someone that is happy with a short let (around 1-3 months) extension can be discussed with the right person. Someone that is happy to socialise but equally likes to do their own thing. Ideally someone not working from home full time. A person that doesn't mind sharing communal spaces together and takes care of them as much.
Me:
I've been in the hospitality world for the last 10 years and still passionate about cooking, baking and sustainable food growing practices. Currently working freelance and often home, as it is being used as a sort of studio/office as well. I am still finishing off the house here and there!
