You know the London room listing drill: “cosy” means you can touch both walls, and “characterful” means the boiler has a name. We’re happy to report this one is a genuinely good room, in a home with real character and a good feeling about it. It’s the kind of place where you can unpack, unwind, plan your next big move and make a lot of good life decisions. Or at least decide what to cook for dinner.
Why it’s available: I’m moving in with my partner, so I’m looking for someone to take my place and move in. You’ll only share with one other flatmate.
The room: a bright double on Chaldon Road, SW6, in a first-floor, two-bed flat. It gets proper daylight, which in a London winter is basically a luxury amenity.
The rent: £930 a month, bills not included. Bills come to £170 to £200 a month per person depending on the season, covering council tax, water, gas, electricity and wifi. There’s a washing machine and a dishwasher in the flat too.
The flatmate: Asher. He’s a 31-year-old architect who works from the office five days a week, so you’ll get plenty of quiet weekday time. He’s into TV shows, music, concerts and cooking. Bring a good series recommendation and you’re already halfway in.
The location: surrounded by excellent sourdough bakeries, leafy green spaces and proper pubs. Supermarket options range from Aldi to M&S, and we’d love to hear your personal supermarket ranking when we meet.
The fine print:
Room available from 6 December
Tenancy starts 16 December, subject to the landlord’s reference checks
You’ll meet Asher before anything is agreed. Think of it as a very low-stakes audition. (He's easily pleased).
Non-smokers only
No pets currently live here, unless you count the occasional wildlife spotted from the window. If you have a pet, chat to us first, as it would need the landlord’s consent.
We like to think age is just a number, but ideally your passport says somewhere between 20 and 35
To apply: send a message telling us a bit about yourself: what you do, what you’re into, and your ideal Sunday. Bonus points for your best London rental horror story.
