Fantastically located, edge of Zone 1; DLR and Overground literally one minute from the flat! 1 stop to Bank, 1 stop to Whitechapel and Elizabeth line, 10 minutes to Canary Wharf, 7 minutes to Shoreditch. There is a Santander bike station directly outside the building. If you have your own bike, there is a lockable storage area outside.
A comfortable double room, east facing window, in a welcoming sunny top floor flat. Good exercise for the legs, as there is no lift. Bills are fully included in the rent, including unlimited internet.
Live-in landlady, Kat, usually stays in Greece, where she runs a small animal rescue, but stays at the flat intermittently. The flat is shared mainly with one other lodger, a young primary school teacher. We’d prefer to rent to a female professional working in a vocational field or key-worker.
You’re welcome to smoke outside, but not indoors.
The neighbourhood is mainly Bengali and very friendly — you’ll often see kids playing outside and washing lines filled with colour. There’s a real sense of community here.
We always have plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables around, bought from Stepney Farm or the local Bengali shops nearby (which are wonderfully affordable!). Iceland and Sainsbury’s are also close.
We’re LGBTQ+ friendly and enjoy a relaxed, respectful home environment — everyone has their own space, but we also like chatting and sharing moments together. This is a home, not just a rental.
To enquire, please send a message via SpareRoom with some basic information about yourself — such as your occupation, nationality and anything else you’d like to share. We do get lots of messages, so if you haven't answered our basic questions, or just ask if the room is still available, you are unlikely to get a response.
