My current lodger is buying her own place. So I am looking for another lodger for my house in Starbeck. I am an artist and film-maker who usually lives half the time in London - so you would have the place to yourself quite a lot of the time. It is a lovely peaceful, sunny home - 5 minutes walk from the train station which goes to York and Leeds in 30 minutes. There is a regular bus service into Harrogate, which takes 15 minutes, (past the hospital which is 20 minutes walk).
My current lodger is 24 and we get on fine, though don’t hang out much. Other lodgers have varied enormously. I love my garden and one lodger helped me build a wildlife pond. He also worked from his bedroom during lockdown, which has a desk and office chair.
Under normal circumstances, when I am here, I am pretty quiet and don't go out much except the occasional gig as I am very into music and the cinema. I am a keen fell walker and have trekked all over the world (Andes, Himalayas etc). I've also lived abroad. Politically I am a leftie. I read the Guardian and listen to a lot of radio 4 and 6 Music. My ideal house mate would care about the environment and what is going on in the world; be considerate and well organised. You would probably be a graduate or similar - Happy to have male or female, gay or straight and any nationality.
