We’re looking for someone great to fill a room in our comfy Highbury flat, as our current flatmate is moving away.
About the room:
The room is good-sized and comes with a bed, a closet, and some shelves. It gets the afternoon sun.
About the flat:
The flat has double-glazed windows. We're on the first floor with a lift.
We have a balcony, as well as Clissold Park just down the street (you can see it from our flat) and lots of other green spaces nearby. We hear birds and see foxes and there's lots of greenery! The estate is quiet, well-lit, and friendly.
We're just off the corner of Stoke Newington Church Street and Green Lanes. Lots of cafes and shops and Sainsbury Local and Lidl.
We have a cleaning rota and take care to keep communal areas tidy, and we each handle some of the bills.
The estate agent is generally very responsive for repairs etc; we have a good relationship with our landlord.
Excellent transport (zone 2): less than 10 minutes on foot to Arsenal tube; 15 minutes to Finsbury Park or Canonbury Overground. Frequent bus service to central (Angel, Liverpool Street, etc.). Great cycling -- we are close to CS1 and other routes.
Bills not included; they average out over the year to about £130 per month (council tax [band C], gas/elec, internet, water). The flat is pretty warm so we don't tend to put the heat on a lot, if that helps!
About us:
We both work and are part-time students, so home is a calm refuge amidst all the activity. We work hybrid.
We're both mixed-race queer POCs. One of us is nonbinary. One of us is vegan, one is pescetarian. We believe in a free Palestine.
About you:
Proactive with taking care of the flat; tidy; considerate; responsible; and a good communicator. Relaxed and calm, okay with not cooking meat at home.
Ideally someone who works from the office/doesn't WFH.
