This is my spare small double room on Hornsey Lane, Highgate.
The room is its own self-contained unit off a communal hall/staircase in the house so you're not with other house/flat mates - ideal for someone who prefers their own space. The room has its own fire-escape/balcony with a couple of chairs and a nice view over gardens. There's use of two shared bathrooms in the building, which are never particularly busy (as most of the house is studios/flats with their own bathrooms) and there are two additional loos. Kitchen-wise, this isn't the right place for someone who cooks most of the time. The room has its own small under the stairs kitchenette on the same hallway which has a sink, small fridge, kettle, toaster, hotplate and microwave (see image) - all pretty new and in good working order - but no serious, built-in cooking facilities - and it's not exactly roomy. There is a storage cupboard under the sink.
The room itself comes nicely furnished with a very comfortable/expensive bed, a desk and chair, various bits of artwork scattered about (which can go if required) and some books on the shelves (which can also go). There's a good size full height corner wardrobe. Because the room is on the non road-side of the building, it's lovely and quiet and there's plenty of fresh air.
The rent includes everything - electricity (assuming you're not starting your own laundry), council tax and access to my broadband (I live in a small studio in the same building). There's a communal washing machine, which again is available almost all of the time, as most of other studios/flats have their own laundry facilities.
This isn't the right place for a couple and a female tenant is preferred.
I welcome your interest if it sounds the right place for you. When making contact, please tell me a little bit about yourself, what you do, how long you'd need somewhere for etc and make it clear the limited kitchen facilities, lack of living room will not be a problem for you. Listings get lots of responses, so if you message just to ask if the room is still available or with a copy/paste enquiry, I'm unlikely to be able to respond..
