An older gentleman with reduced mobility and memory is seeking a Sharer for his home to offer a little practical help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

He would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around his home in the evenings and overnight. He would also like some general practical help around the home such as shopping, cooking up to four meals each week, light cleaning and tidying, laundry, carrying heavier items, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is a large bedroom, (currently furnished with a single bed, may be able to be changed for a double) and shared use of the bathroom, kitchen, sitting room and garden.

The property is located in beautiful countryside 1.5 miles from the village or Holmfirth and 6 miles from the University of Huddersfield.

The gentleman is intelligent and articulate and lovely to talk to. His interests include music, gardening, writing and reading the Guardian. He has some help in the garden and a fortnightly cleaner. He also has a timid cat.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time (up to 15 hours per week in a mix of practical help plus a little company) to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the gentleman’s interests.
