Hello there,
I am Tayyaba / Tayya (for some) and work as a teacher. I am British born Asian. I live with my 16 year old daughter and another adult.. There are two bathrooms in the home ,one upstairs and the other downstairs where your room will be but mostly everyone apart from me prefers using the downstairs bathroom.
The best word that describes home is 'homely" and "peaceful".
I tend to share food and I like it when people eat together, when my lodgers' family visits. There is always room for visitors and space on the dining table. I like barbecues and having conversations in the dining room when eating. The dining table is not for show. I enjoy taking care of home. There is a disco ball on the ceiling in the living room, candles ,fairy lights , wind chimes in the garden . Bubble making machine for the garden in summer etc .
I have a black British short hair cat called "winter" that my daughter and I adopted from the animal shelter. He is part of the family too and mostly sleeps either in my room or in my daughter's room.
The other person in the home is Wesley. He is 33 , English and Dutch but from South Africa. He works long hours as a bus driver and has a calm personality with a good sense of humour. Layla is a very happy child (although has a resting face) and has a dry sense of humour. I am the chatty one who often asks 'do you want something to eat?'.
Home is very peaceful and I would really like a calm and kind house mate to be part of the home. If you like to watch movies together, that is okay and if you need your own space that is okay too. I have emotional intelligence. So, tend to pick on how people feel. The most important thing is for the person to be warm , to have empathy and care .
Apologies, I tend not to have pork in the home as I am a Muslim. It's the only difficult part of living with me!
The home looks exactly like in the pictures. I would recommend a video call before you decide to view the room in person. It is a very feminine looking home apart from my daughter's room. Like her , you can also change your room according to your style if the four poster bed and the paintings are a bit too much for you.
Home is a 6 minutes walk from Barking station. There is access to district line , Hammersmith line , C2C and the over ground train . There is a small bridge you need to cross (for a few seconds) at the end of my street (Essex Road) to access the station. I have been okay walking alone on it since 2006 but I don't allow my daughter to walk alone on it when it gets dark. Therefore, I should mention this as I need to show the same consideration towards others too as I do with my daughter .
