Hello! We are looking for a housemate to join us in our lovely flat in gorgeous, quaint area of Olympia/Brook Green. The flat has a wonderful vibe, is light and spacious, and has brilliant cafes and restaurants on the street and a short distance from the Hammersmith river - for summer afternoons in the riverside pubs! After 2 years here I'm sad to be leaving to a different side of town, and so we’re hoping to find someone who’s also keen to add to the friendly and collective energy of the flat.
The flat:
The flat has a bright and large living room, kitchen, bathroom and small toilet - shared amongst the 4 of us. The area around is lovely, with a fantastic bakery and quaint roads a minute away, nice pubs and two large supermarkets 10-15 mins away. It’s walking distance from Olympia (10 mins) Hammersmith (10 mins) and Shepherds Bush (15 mins) stations for excellent transport connections. The area, especially Hammersmith-way has lots going on with the Hammersmith Apollo, Lyric Theatre, and Thames (especially lively by the pubs in the summer) a short walk away, as well as Holland Park (25 min walk) and Hyde Park (15 min cycle) nearby.
Rent:
The room rent is £971.10 per month (deposit of £962.30 kept in a tenancy deposit scheme), and in practice acts as a rolling contract.
Living with:
You’ll be sharing with our lovely flatmates Viki (who works as a teacher), Will (works in the civil service) and Jay (works in HR for a university). Jay and Will mostly work from home. We are an active bunch and amongst us, our interests are: singing in a choir, salsa dancing, yoga, training for a triathlon, and exploring the local area/ trips to the pubs along the Hammersmith river. We like to keep the flat a chill space (we aren’t a party flat) but each have our own busy social lives outside, and friends/partners are always very welcome here. The flat energy is relaxed, friendly and homely.
The room:
The room itself is bright, cosy and medium in size, and has plenty of storage and extra on the landing.
Access info:
The flat is a mezzanine layout over the 1st and 2nd floor of the property, front door access by key (moderately heavy door). There’s also buzzer for entry to the flat if someone else is in. 1 step to the main corridor, then a flight of 15 steps to the flat entrance (unfortunately no lift access). On the first floor is the kitchen and small toilet, with a step to the living room; and on the second floor (10 steps, small landing, then another 8 steps) to the bathroom. We don’t have a garden/balcony. Reference and employment checks are required from our estate agents (unfortunately universal credit/students not accepted by the estate agents). No pets allowed by the landlord unfortunately. We’re not a smoking house and aren’t a fragrance-free house.
