Hi,
I am looking for two new flatmates to move into a lovely 3-bed flat in Notting Hill (W10) starting from 5th of October or early November. Rent does not include bills, these typically add up to about 120 pounds including council tax. Currently, two friends are staying with me while in London and I will be travelling in October hence the flexibility in the dates.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE AD as previous experience says I will likely get hundreds of replies and would like you to really check if it would be a fit.

ABOUT THE FLAT:
The flat is right next to Portobello market, just a 3-minute walk from Ladbroke Grove station, and a 20-minute walk to Notting Hill Gate (night tubeeee). It’s on the 1st floor and has a nice modern kitchen, a living room with a balcony, and a shared bathroom with a bathtub. Both bedrooms are south facing with lots of sun and come fully furnished with a bed, desk and chest of drawers. The first bedroom has a lot of storage in a built-in wardrobe. The second room is slightly smaller, with a large floor to ceiling wardrobe.

Some of the flat’s other perks include:
- a lovely living room with a great balcony to people watch on Portobello market
-a shared garden
-wooden floors
-double glazed windows
-some funky self-curated art on the walls (with space to ad yours!)
-private landlady who is very hands-on and that I have a very good relationship with
-lots of restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood
-gym just across the road (Everyone Active)
-and - most importantly - a great flatmate.

The flat has been refurbished prior to us moving in 8 years ago and we have kept things pretty spotless throughout our time here with some furniture upgrades etc.

ABOUT ME:
I (Richard - he, him) finished my PhD two years ago and have since been working as a researcher at a London uni. My flatmates are moving out after 2 and 8 years, respectively, to move closer to/in with their boyfriends. Over the 8 years in the flat, we have together created a home rather than a mere flatshare. I am keen to keep this good flat vibe going but also respect personal space.

I enjoy sharing meals, nights out together or movie nights in, being able to discuss and engage with politics with my flatmates (read: opinionated but tolerant person), organise the occasional dinner or flat party, host friends from around the world. All of this was organised together and is discussed with flatmates. The vibe has been really open minded but always considerate.

Typical things we liked to organise in the flat include a yearly outing to go to FOLD and from their to Billingsgate Fish Market and after some sleep having friends over for a fish feast (cheat day for me ;)) or hosting people for Notting Hill Carnival plus the occasional bday party etc.

A lil more about me:
-I work mostly from the office but occasionally try to overcome a paper writing block by working from home.
-love to cook (mostly vegetarian)
-trying to live more sustainably any way possible
-weekend breakfast is sacred
-German (don’t hold it against me)
-play volleyball
-love cycling around London, camping, being out in nature
-love running, don’t love going to the gym alone but tryna work on that
-love a creative project (currently lino printing)

At the moment, unless strong vibes are established, preference for long term lets will be given to people who have been in London for a bit, have their own friend groups with a potential to integrate but that is in no way an expectation. Sorry for that - but London is a transient city and I have helped raise my fair share of London puppies :)
