My friend and current flatmate will be returning home after October, so I’m looking for someone to take over her room and live with me from October onwards.
I’d love to get to know each other and have a chat beforehand to see whether our personalities, routines, and living habits are compatible. I’m hoping to find someone I genuinely get along with, rather than rushing to fill the room.
💁♀️ About me
You can call me Steph! I worked in consumer product design and development in Taiwan for over four years, and I’m currently completing my master’s degree in London.
I’m a non-smoker and live a fairly simple lifestyle. I enjoy visiting cafés, shopping, going to museums and seeing exhibitions. I’m independent but sociable, and I enjoy meeting new people. My MBTI is ENFP!
I’m planning to stay in London, apply for the Graduate Visa, and look for work after graduation. Ideally, I’d like to live with another woman who is also applying for the Graduate Visa, currently working in London, or has stable plans to remain in the UK.
🏠 The flat
* Available from October, with the possibility of an earlier move-in in September by arrangement.
* Two-bedroom, one-bathroom flat, with the bathroom shared between two people
* Modern apartment building, approximately 10 years old, with secure entry and lifts
* Small residents’ gym, communal courtyard garden and self-service parcel room
* Rent: £1,400 per person per month, excluding bills
* The tenancy is a joint tenancy agreement, meaning both tenants sign the same agreement, although we normally pay our own share of the rent separately
* Should either tenant need to move out later, they may find a suitable replacement tenant, subject to the agent’s referencing, approval and formal tenancy-swap process
* According to the agent’s referencing requirements, anyone earning below £42,000 per year will need a UK-based guarantor or must arrange a professional guarantor service
* Female tenant preferred
* I have allergies, so a non-smoker is strongly preferred
📍 Location
The flat is in Elephant & Castle, on the Zone 1/2 boundary, with excellent transport connections and local amenities.
* Approximately five minutes’ walk from the Underground and railway stations
* Northern Line, Bakerloo Line and National Rail services
* Direct train connections towards King’s Cross St Pancras — I often take the train because it is quick and air-conditioned!
* Several bus routes with direct connections into central London
* Approximately 15–25 minutes to many central London destinations
* Plenty of cafés nearby, including Gail’s
* Bubble tea shops, Asian restaurants and three Asian supermarkets within easy reach
It would be ideal for someone who, like me, values convenience and dislikes long commutes.
I’m hoping to find a respectful female flatmate with a similar lifestyle. Please message me with a brief introduction, including your current work or student status, how long you plan to stay in London, and what your usual routine is like. We can have a chat and see whether we might be a good match!
