Hey hey! 👋 Thanks for having a nosey.
There’s a cosy room here waiting for the right person to make it their own.
Ideally looking for someone who wants a proper home rather than a short stopover, so if you’re hoping to settle somewhere comfortable and friendly for a while, keep reading.
🛌 The Room
It’s a double room with:
• Double bed
• Large mirrored wardrobe
• Two bedside tables (handmade by me 😌)
• Chair + bookshelf
There’s also a floating desk in there at the moment. I’m totally open to changing things around if you want to make the space your own. Swap furniture, move things about, add bits that suit you. Happy to help with the vision… or lend the power tools if you fancy a solo DIY project.
🏡 The Home
The house has a relaxed, lived-in feel. We’ve got a spare room that’s kept free for visiting friends and family, and by the front door there’s a “remembrance canvas” where guests leave little doodles before heading off. It’s slowly becoming a chaotic masterpiece.
When I’m not rearranging bits of the house you’ll usually find me listening to music, working on some random business idea, or watching something. Current watch: Mr Robot.
If you work remotely, or enjoy the calm of suburban life and still want easy access to the city, the location works really well.
🚆 The train station is a 5 minute walk
🚆 Around 27 minutes into Edinburgh Waverley
👥 About Us
I’m Dean (23) and often work from home, with weekly trips into Edinburgh. I’m in the green shirt.
Sam (28) is a chef and works in the kitchens at Gleneagles. He’s got accommodation there so he’s around visiting two days a week. Sam’s in the navy shirt.
We’re both pretty easy-going and welcoming. Last year we randomly ended up travelling around Albania, and most weekends we’ll try and go explore somewhere new in Scotland.
Once a week I do a proper clean of the shared spaces (hoover, dust, etc.).
Family’s a big thing for both of us. We each come from families of six, so we’re well trained in the art of living with other humans.
✅ Little Extras
• We keep a shared calendar so everyone knows when someone’s away or when guests are visiting. I travel to see my family around 6–7 times a year (yes, that’s intentional 😄).
• We’re used to catering for different diets. I previously lived with a coeliac housemate and Sam’s… well… a fine dining chef. So food situations tend to be handled well.
If you’re friendly, considerate, and looking for somewhere you can genuinely call home, I’d love to hear from you 🦉
