Spacious top-floor accommodation in Lewes – ideal for a single lodger

A very spacious and peaceful home for a single lodger, occupying the top floor of our large, three-storey Victorian house in the quiet and leafy Wallands area of Lewes.

The accommodation offers a high degree of privacy and effectively gives you your own top-floor space, with your bedroom, living/kitchenette and bathroom all together on the top floor.

The accommodation comprises:

1. Large, light, fully furnished double bedroom.
With lovely views across Lewes towards the town and surrounding countryside.

2. Bright, fully furnished kitchenette/living space.
A comfortable room with sofa, dining table and chairs, and views towards Lewes Castle. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, microwave/grill/oven combination, induction hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, crockery and other essentials.

3. Very spacious bathroom
A bright bathroom on the same floor, with wonderful views, two washbasins, bath, separate shower and toilet. The bathroom is shared in principle, although in practice we rarely use it.

There is also a spare room on the top floor which we use ourselves, so this is not part of the lodger's private accommodation. We retain access to both this room (principally for storage) and the bathroom, although neither are accessed often.

A washing machine is available for shared use in the basement laundry room.

Location

The house is approximately 8 minutes' walk from Lewes town centre, 12 minutes from Lewes railway station, and about 8 minutes from the bus stop for buses to Brighton.

There is space in the shed for one bicycle. There is plenty of free evening street parking (5pm–9am) and at weekends, with reasonably priced metered/scratch-card parking outside these times. There is also some free parking about five minutes' walk away.

Bills included

Electricity, gas central heating, council tax, water and Wi-Fi are all included in the rent.

About us

We are a couple with grown-up children who occasionally visit. We are looking for a considerate single lodger, ideally someone who works away from home during normal office hours or has a similar routine.

The accommodation would suit someone who values space, peace and privacy, while being comfortable living in a friendly shared household.
