Quiet, peaceful room in a beautiful conservation area.
PLEASE ONLY GET IN TOUCH IF you can move in by Sep 13/14. Thank you!
About the room:
The bedroom is a decent size double with high ceilings, and enjoys beautiful views over the back gardens of Brockley with the City and a Church spire in the distance.
The bed is a king size bed with mattress topper so very comfy.
You can just about fit a small desk in here if you want to bring one, but it is not currently set up like that.
There is ample storage under the bed and via a built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table and mantlepiece.
The fireplace is a beautiful feature of the room.
About the flat:
This 1st floor flat is light and roomy with many period features.
The split-level layout means the flat feels nice and spacious.
There is a bright living room with big windows that overlook Hilly Fields park, making it a lovely place to come home to. The living room has a wide screen tv, dining table and separate desk area.
The living room is separate to the kitchen.
There is a shared bathroom with a shower and a bath at the top of the stairs.
About the area:
In my opinion, Hilly Fields park is one of the best parks in London (not that I am biased or anything!) - great for tree and people watching!
There are often people playing cricket, tag rugby, football etc. There's also tennis and basketball courts on the apex of the hill. From Hilly Fields and from the flat, you get nice views of London.
Ladywell fields and Brockley Cemetery also provide lovely walking spaces, with Brockley Nature Reserve and Greenwich Park nearby.
About the rent:
Council Tax Band C.
Bills ARE included in the rent.
About Brockley:
Brockley is a gorgeous area of South East London, with a great community vibe as well as plenty of fun pubs and restaurants.
The Brockley Conservation Area is so relaxed and picturesque. Famous musicians and actors discovered this quiet corner of South East London in recent times, but it still retains that feeling of being a hidden gem.
Fun places like The Talbot Pub mingle with quality local restaurants. Brockley Market at the weekend has a great selection of food vans and stalls selling a wide variety of tempting things.
Greenwich Village is just a short journey away with all the riverside pubs and historic architecture you could hope for as well.
About Transport:
Great transport links to Canary Wharf area and the city centre!
Brockley Station is an 10-15 minute walk from the flat, with trains running directly to London Bridge and the South Bank, journey time less than 10 mins. Alternatively you can travel on the Overground Line from Brockley direct to Shoreditch in 20 mins, for fun bars, gig venues, vintage clothes shops and fabulous restaurants can be found. The Overground also connects with the Jubilee Line at Canada Water, for trains going east to Canary Wharf and Stratford, or west to Green Park and Hampstead.
Lewisham Station is also a short walk away and you can get the DLR into the city via Canary Wharf or frequent trains heading to London Bridge, Waterloo, Charing Cross, Cannon Street and Victoria.
St Johns Station is even closer to home, which also takes you direct to the city in less than 10 mins.
Ladywell station (10-14 mins via the park) also takes you into the city.
Driving across town is also manageable but we are in the Ultra Low Emissions Zone, so there may be a charge for diesel vehicles.
Cycling into the city is also relatively straight-forward, no need to go up and down steep hills! Plus there is a Lime Bike parking spot 1 min away.
