Hi there, I’m Sophie and I am looking for a lodger to occupy my double bedroom in my spacious nunhead home. I am a home-based professional working in fostering. I am also a mum to my two grown up children with one living with me whist finishing his degree .
The room is a lovely carpeted double bedroom with lots of storage. It is currently furnished with a double bed, bedside table, curtains and a lampshade, and overlooks our back garden. It is the only room at the back of the house and shares a landing with the large upstairs bathroom which has both a bath and shower. Shared areas include the kitchen which has all necessary appliances and crockery you may need for cooking, both bathrooms and a small office space with a desk that may be useful for working from home. All bills are included incuding wifi and TV license.
The location is great for transport: it is only a 4 minute walk away from Nunhead station which has frequent Thameslink services to London Victoria, and a 9 minute walk from Queens Road Peckham which has overground services to Dalston Junction and Clapham Junction as well as trains to London Bridge. My house is also located on a 78 and p4 bus route with a stop 30 seconds walk from the door. Nunhead has a great selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, and is a 15 minute walk from Peckham Rye Lane. Nunhead cemetery, Peckham Rye and Telegraph hill are the nearest parks and green spaces to our house and excellent to visit all year round.
I am looking for an easygoing and relaxed individual as I like to think I share these qualities. My house is an accepting and friendly space open to people from all nationalities, sexual orientations and backgrounds and I want you to feel welcome. An ideal lodger would have respect for personal space as well as the house, someone who is capabale of cleaning up after themselves, but also someone who has a great sense of humour and is easy to get along with. I am open to flexible arrangements, for example, if someone needed acommodation for the working week as their job requires them to be in London, this is something I would be willing to negotiate. As I work from home myself it would be preferable to have a lodger who is office-based or hybrid working but this is not a deal-breaker at all.
I look forward to hearing from you.
