This is a shared house in Waterloo, with 4 male professionals living here that have known each other since Uni in 2015. We've been in the house, with a couple of tenant changes, since 2019 and are at this point on a rolling contract with the private landlord (rent goes through Foxtons). The rent is actually this cheap - a result of the long-standing tenancy and good relationship with the landlords. I'm moving out permanently so this listing is for someone to take over the room fully.
The house has a shared bathroom upstairs and smaller toilet downstairs, a shared kitchen/living space with sofas and a TV in it as well as a decent garden with furniture.
The house is in council tax band F and the rent is £712.50 per month, with all the combined utilities and bills for the house coming to about £144 per month. Each of us handles one utility bill between council tax, gas + electric, water, and internet. We pay those individually then send each other the difference to balance it. My bill is WiFi so you'd be taking over that end of it. We also have a rota for all the communal use things in the house like soap and kitchen binbags as well as rotating the cleaning of the communal areas split in 4 between kitchen, lower toilet, upper toilet, and halls/carpets.
The room on offer is on the first floor with north-east facing windows over-looking the garden meaning the room gets great light, especially through summer. You can also usually glimpse parts of the new years fireworks from here.
The room is carpeted and furnished with a double bed (although currently has a king sized bed), 2 wardrobes, a set of drawers and a mirror, a tall thin Ikea shelves unit and 2 shelves.
It's a very spacious room. There are extra bits of storage in the hallway closets if needed.
The house's location is the biggest draw tbh. It's about 2 minutes walk from both Southwark tube and Waterloo station, walking into town or along the Thames from Battersea to Southbank to Tower Bridge is all very accessible.
There are tons of restaurants and pubs a short walk away and multiple pairs of Sainburys Local/Tesco Express around very close, with a big Morrisons not far off down the Woolworth road.
Your housemates would be all males between 28-33 and all work varying office jobs with a mix of office work and WFH through the work week.
We're not party animals and it is generally quite a quiet house, we mostly stay in and play video games but also like to hang out as a house, venturing out to the pub, something to eat or any other activities we fancy.
