Balcony room available in a friendly 4-person house next to the canal & Victoria park!

We're looking for easy going, independent people who care about creating a generous and relaxing home environment.

💸 Room price: £1050 per month plus bills of about £100

🧻 Cleanliness rating: We keep things tidy and clean but do not want too high expectations
👯‍♂ Social rating: We like hanging out when we're in the house together but tend to be out quite a lot as well. A couple of us are hybrid working so sometimes around in the day.

Luke: having grown up in Richmond Luke is desperate for a zone 1 identity and can often be found wandering around elephant & castle admiring the connection routes. With an engineering degree Luke will only get the gousto to cook when it feels like a game, but the house benefits from his generous portion sizes.

Operations is Luke's middle name and if you want a task completed make sure you suggest an inefficient option and then leave his ADHD medication and a glass of milk in plain sight.

You may mistake Luke for his girlfriend or someone who loves groceries as he works for Ocado in their data team. He's a natural runner, what he's running from we don't know but he's heading towards a world that works better for everyone, starting right at home.

Tildy: An upbringing in Devon at Steiner Schools has left this 28 year old with more identity and purpose than her zero practical skills know what to do with. Niche subjects like Maths and History might not be her strong suit but if you need to put together an obstacle course competition, rearrange your room for optimal Feng Shui and be back home before noon, even Ferris Bueller couldn’t hold a match.

Currently ‘in-between jobs’ (shock), Tildy works in the field of AI safety and is always happy to engage in conversations should you be worried about your job disappearing.

Ben is a walking contradiction; he exercises daily but as a vegetarian, never eats enough protein to make it matter; a fan of late night frolics & disco music who always respects the neighbours quiet time upon his return.

When not living in oppositon to himself, Ben likes to live in support of others. Self appointed neighbourhood relationship manager, he’s replying to the latest street WhatsApp message offering help faster than you can say flathead screwdriver.

Ben is an ex social worker who decided he preferred a layer of policy between him and any real impact; he now works at a children’s charity supporting parliament.

We’re all easy going, and though we’ve been friends for a few years, have our own lives and groups of friends in London, but enjoy cooking together, watching movies, playing games, occasionally dancing and exercising.
We’re looking for: someone who has their own life but who won’t lock themselves in their room and wants to engage with the house as a home; who is kind, open-minded, considerate, clean and tidy, and doesn’t get agitated if someone forgets to wash up a coffee mug .
The location: the house is inside a gated mews that has a community-feel to it. It backs onto the canal that runs along Victoria Park. We’re in-between Bethnal Green and Mile End tube, both about 12 minutes walk. The area is quiet and safe and a short walk to Roman Road with lots of shops and pubs and cafes. There are spots to lock your bike inside the mews.
The house: The house is a good sized 4 bedroom house with a large open kitchen and living room. There is a terrace at the back on the canal and the mews with a garden out front. The house is in good condition with a nice finish and the landlord is responsive to any issues. The tenancy is until November but we envisage that the landlord will extend it as they live in Cambridge with their own family.
The room: Is it a large room with a balcony overlooking the canal, king-sized bed, built-in book shelves, chest of drawers, sofa. You’ll share a bathroom with one other person (Ben). The bathroom has a decent overhead shower and there's a bath in the upstairs bathroom.
