Looking for a student to take over my contract at Sanctuary Students Don Gratton House. Contract ends 16th August 2024, and room is available to move in when you are ready, subject to signing the contract with Sanctuary Students.

These photos are just from the internet as I am not currently there, but I have chosen the photos that exactly match my type of room. I would say that the room is bigger in person, as the photos are not capturing the whole room. The door visible to the left in the bedroom photo is the door of the closet, not the bathroom, which is located next to it but not captured in the picture.

Don Gratton House is well-located, almost equal distances between Whitechapel and Aldgate East stations. It takes me about 5 minutes to walk to Whitechapel and 7 to walk to Aldgate East. It's also a 15 minute walk to Liverpool Street or Bethnal Green Overground stations. Well connected, with East London Mosque bus stop about a 1 minute walk away.

Room is well-sized room with an ensuite bathroom, small double bed, large desk with drawers, bookshelves, small living chair, electric radiator and a closet. There are also 6 UK plug sockets and 6 USB sockets in the room, with 4 of each over the desk and two of each next to the bed. There is a shaving/electric toothbrush socket in the bathroom.

The main room has a bright overhead light and a smaller light over the bed, the bathroom has an overhead light and a small light over the mirror. There is also a vent in the bathroom which automatically turns on with the main light, but can be manually turned on/off too.

Storage space is abundant with a shelf over the door (i kept some storage boxes and a small suitcase up there), two huge storage spaces under the bed, a well-sized bookshelf mounted to the wall with space above it too, a built-in closet with clothing rack and upper storage shelf and three well-sized drawers built into the desk.

There is a shared kitchen, which has a fridge-freezer, mini fridge, mini freezer, table and chairs, electric stove and oven, sink, and plenty of cupboard space. Also has hoover and dustpan and brush available for use. The first floor has a terrace/outdoor garden area with some benches and artificial grass. For smokers, no smoking is allowed indoors but there is a smoking area near the bike storage.

Rooms are not cleaned by cleaners (except before moving in), but the trash is removed from kitchen daily and the kitchen is fully cleaned once a week. The site is secured by a gate and there is night security too.

Personally I found the accommodation quite pleasant and the other tenants in the flat are friendly and keep the shared kitchen space tidy. The flat has 5 rooms in total. Noise is minimal in my opinion. Fire alarm tests are done weekly on Wednesdays. Maintenance are usually quick to sort any reported issues if they arise, which is not often, and staff are friendly and helpful.
