Hi! I have two rooms available on a lovely leafy street in the heart of Camden - a very large double room for £975/month, and a slightly cosier double room for £875/month.
About me and my house:
I am a musician, freelance poker writer, and student tailor, born and bred in Camden. I'm the owner-occupier of a beautiful, much-loved terraced house on a quiet street in Camden, where I live with my three-year-old chihuahua. The location is ideal - 1 minute from Camden Market, 3 mins to Kentish Town West Overground, 5 mins to Chalk Farm Tube, 7 mins to Camden Town Tube, a plethora of buses, night buses etc.
My current lodgers are leaving (one has bought their own flat and the other is moving back to Manchester for work) so I have two spare rooms and I'm looking to fill them with lodgers who are friendly and interesting, but also respect that this is my permanent home - I'm just renting the bedrooms, rather than wanting a traditional houseshare. I work from home a lot and I regard the downstairs kitchen/living room/garden areas as my office, so I ask that anyone who lives here respects that (although of course you're welcome to cook in the kitchen and use the garden when I'm not around etc). I also walk around in my pyjamas a lot and so on, so I ask that tenants do not have guests over, as I can't have anyone I don't know in the house (although obviously a long-term partner visiting would be fine). The location is so perfect though (2 mins from the Stables Market) that this has never been a problem for any of my previous lodgers.
About the rooms:
The larger room (£975/month) is fully furnished with a double bed, bedside table and lamp, very large desk with filing cabinet and chair, two bookcases, wardrobe and chest of drawers. You could definitely fit a small sofa etc in there as well without making the room feel cluttered, if you were that way inclined. There are two large sash windows that face the street, but it's surprisingly quiet for how close we are to the bars and clubs of Chalk Farm Road.
The smaller room (£875/month) has a double bed, chest of drawers, enormous mirror, bookcase and wardrobe. It has a large sash window overlooking the garden.
Both rooms are on the first floor.
About the house:
There's a large bathroom with a fantastic shower that we all share, as well as an additional toilet room on the ground floor. The kitchen is large and sunny with a conservatory extension full of plants, and opens out on to a very pretty walled garden. The kitchen is equipped with an Aga in winter and electric appliances in summer, as well as an espresso machine, dishwasher etc and ample other cooking equipment.
The house is in need of some renovation so this is likely to be a fairly short-term arrangement; I haven't finalised the schedule yet but I'm hoping to get the renovation under way next spring. The tenancy agreement is essentially a rolling one-month contract but I'll probably be able to give you more like 3-4 months' notice before I need the house empty. It would be perfect for someone who's looking for a place in Camden for the rest of this year.
Please get in touch if you think that you might be the right housemate for me and my dog, and I'd be delighted to meet you and show you around!
