One double room is available, in a quiet tranquil location.
Move in date from the 20th of February 2026. Preferably long term with a minimum stay of 3 months.
I prefer a lodger, who will make the house their home and treat it as such and take care of it. A longer term stay for a minimum of 1 year is preferred. The room is available now from the 20th of February. A three months notice period is required. A signed contract will be in place . Reference/s please.
You can see a short video of the house but it will not contain all rooms. The uploaded photos show the double room. We can arrange an appointment by WhatsApp to discuss arrangements. I prefer to be initially contacted by email since I am not always available by phone.
The house is furnished. The rental is £600. The monthly consumption of electricity & gas bills, registered in my name, will be in addition. A television licence will have to be taken out by you if you wish to watch television or use online platforms that require a licence. No additional bills like council tax are due. Wi-Fi is provided.
This is a quiet location and peaceful house to live in. Free, unrestricted parking is available in the street (unlike many places). There is one space on the drive. From the room there is a park to look onto. Great walks in nature and along the river Esk or the sea . A gym is very close by as well as many restaurants or takeaways. Walks along the sea shore are beautiful. Portobello is a few bus stops away. The local park in warmer months is pretty and peaceful to sit in.
The double room has an inbuilt wardrobe with few shelves. The room has a double bed, chest of drawers , towel holder ,table & light , chair and clothing holder.
The kitchen has a table/sitting area and the house is bright throughout. The conservatory may be used. The bathroom has a bath/shower. Kitchen facilities include the use of a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a kettle, microwave and toaster available. The front and back gardens are available for use and require joint upkeep.
Many buses go frequently to the city centre and include 2 bus routes with bus numbers 26 /44 three minutes walk away. The journey to the city centre takes approximately 45 minutes. Other bus numbers are 111 between Haddington and Edinburgh Royal Infirmary; 113 between Western General and Pencaitland and 104 between West End and Haddington. There are bus numbers 46/48/140/141 ( 5 minutes walk through a small park) . All stops are relatively near to the house (3 minutes). The train from Wallyford or Musselburgh go to Waverly Station and this takes about 12 minutes.
I am a professional and work partly at home. There are periods when I am away.
Thank you for considering this to be a home for you. Please email me a little about yourself as it is important for me to know who I may live with. I prefer lodgers who have a regular settled job and income or are postgraduate students who have their studies mapped out. I also prefer lodgers who will respectfully care for the house as if it is their own. The house has to be kept clean and cared for in all aspects.
Reference/s are required. Please provide this when meeting . While I love animals, I am very sorry that pets are not welcome nor are smokers.
