I’m looking for a tenant to replace my current housemate’s tenancy on 30 July 2026. The room is £550 a month and the deposit is also around £550 upfront. Bills come to around £150 each a month on top including council tax.
The house is a 15 min walk from town and has good public transport links. It is a 10 min walk to the hospital and to YSJ too. It has a shared bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The kitchen has everything included as well as a dishwasher and a washing machine. The living room has one 2 seater sofa bed and a flatscreen TV plus lots of storage space which I would be happy for you to use. We also have a small enclosed backyard and a small outbuilding. The bedroom is at the back of the house with a large window and can comfortably fit a double bed in. It is currently unfurnished but I am happy to provide a clothes rail and some little bits of furniture if needed.
You would be sharing the house with myself and my rescue cat, Dickie. I always clean up after myself and Dickie and would want someone who also does the same for themself. It is really important to me that you offer a kind, warm presence around the house as my cat has health issues that can be exacerbated by stress. He’s a shy boy at first so I would want him to get to know you. It is also important that visitors are kept to a minimum as any changes in routine with who comes in and out of the house stresses him out a lot.
I’m a recent Master’s graduate working as a bartender near the station. I am very creative and love painting and photography. I also love a quiet night in with a film or something relaxing to do. I occasionally head to the pub for a few drinks with friends but mostly spend my time at home relaxing when I’m not working. I would love to live with someone who likes a mixture of relaxing in the living room together and relaxing in our own spaces separately. I’d like for us to get along well so that we both feel comfortable living together and there is never a breakdown in communication. I would do everything I could to make you feel welcome and help you settle in. It would be great to redecorate when you move in so that the shared spaces feel like home for the both of us.
