Hello! I'm offering a lovely, spacious double room in my three bedroom house in South Norwood, available from May 1.
The room, which has a lockable door, overlooks the back patio garden with pretty views over the neighbouring allotments. You'll have full use of the kitchen, bathroom (bath and shower), dining room, and garden patio. The living room is also available when I'm not using it. As its my home I like to keep the place clean and tidy, so the room would suit someone who shares these standards.
For those working from home, there is also the potential to use a second, smaller, bedroom as a study, which already has a desk and office chair (see photos).
Situated in a safe, quiet neighbourhood, the house is located 7 minutes' walk from Norwood Junction station, and 3 minutes' walk from bus stops. It is close to two supermarkets and other local shops.
Norwood Junction has excellent connectivity to central London, with train services to London Bridge (12 mins), Blackfriars (16 mins), Farringdon (20 mins), King's Cross (25 mins); as well as to Clapham Junction (20 mins) and Victoria (30 mins). It is also on the Windrush Overground line, which connects West Croydon to Highbury & Islington via Canada Water, Shoreditch and Hoxton. There are direct trains to Gatwick Airport (35 mins) and Luton Airport (60 mins), and East Croydon is just 5 minutes away.
I am an environmental scientist with two adult children who have flown the nest, so would like to have someone needing a home in London to occupy the spare room. I'm a friendly person and enjoy a chat in the kitchen, but I also respect privacy and value quiet time.
The tenancy would be for a short term contract (3-6 months, or a rolling month-to-month contract, depending on what suits you best). The room might ideally suit someone on a short-term work contract, awaiting a permanent move, or needing a comfortable weekday base in London.
The rate is inclusive of utility bills and council tax. The room is ideally suited to one tenant, but couples could rent the room for a short-term stay (max two months) for an additional £100/ week.
The house is a non-smoking house, although if you are a smoker you are welcome to use the back patio.
