Hey everyone! I’m looking for a new flatmate to share my home with me and my cat 🐈⬛
I’ve lived here for around 4 years and it genuinely feels like home to me, so I’m much more interested in finding the right person than simply filling the room as quickly as possible.
🏠 The flat
It’s a 3-bedroom flat, but it would just be the two of us living here. The smaller third bedroom is kept as a spare room, and the large double bedroom shown in the photos is the room available.
There’s also a shared living room, kitchen, bathroom with bath + separate shower, and a separate toilet.
📍 Bethnal Green
* Around 6 minutes’ walk from Bethnal Green tube
* Walking distance to Victoria Park, London Fields and Brick Lane
* Available from around 9 September
💸 Costs
Rent: £715/month
Deposit: expected to be one month’s rent (£715), subject to final confirmation with the landlady.
Bills are shared between the two of us:
* Gas + electricity (Octopus): around £105/month total
* Internet: £37/month total
* Water: around £200–£300 per billing period, usually around every 6 months
* Council Tax: I’m a full-time student and exempt. The incoming tenant’s amount would depend on their circumstances and the applicable discount, so this would need to be confirmed.
I’m an existing tenant, not the landlord or an agent. The new flatmate would need to go through the landlady’s usual checks/referencing before moving in. The exact requirements would need to be confirmed with her.
🌿 Who I’m looking for
Ideally someone 25+, clean, calm, considerate and independent, preferably working/studying and with their own routine and social life.
I don’t want us to just be two strangers avoiding each other in the hallway. I’d love to live with someone where we both feel comfortable, can chat or hang out sometimes, help each other out, and genuinely feel like this is our home — while also being completely comfortable doing our own thing and respecting each other’s privacy.
I study from home quite a lot, so having a peaceful home environment is really important to me.
It’s not a party house. Friends, dates and partners are obviously welcome — I just want us to communicate and be considerate about guests, noise and late nights rather than the flat constantly becoming a gathering spot.
🌈 LGBTQ+ friendly home. Being genuinely comfortable with and respectful of LGBTQ+ people is essential.
🐱 My cat is very social and very much part of the household, so you’ll need to be genuinely happy living with a cat.
♿ Accessibility
* First-floor flat in a residential block
* Around 20 stairs to reach the flat
* No lift
* Intercom entry system
* Bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet are all on the same level once inside
* No specific accessibility adaptations
If this sounds like the kind of home you’re looking for, send me a message telling me a little about yourself, your routine, work/studies and what your ideal flatshare/home environment looks like ❤️
