We are a friendly house share based in the Iffley area looking for a new housemate from 5th October (move in possible at any time from 5th to 31st October) :)
The room available is a furnished double room, at £685 per month excluding bills, which come to a total of approx £108 per month. There are five rooms in total in the house, but one room has an ensuite bathroom meaning that you would be sharing the communal bathroom between four. We have a very large open plan kitchen space, lounge, and are lucky to have both a front yard for bike parking and a little garden at the back of the house, as well as a separate downstairs toilet. On-street parking is available subject to applying for a parking permit from the council. We are located in a really nice area, very close to Magdalen Rd shops and cafés, numerous pubs around Iffley Rd, under 5 minutes cycle from Cowley Rd and around a 10 minutes cycle into the town centre. We also have a bus stop at the end of the road which takes you into the town centre and all the way to the station. We are also located very close to the river, and you can walk into town via the Thames path, near to the Kidneys nature reserve. The property is an HMO, managed by Finders Keepers, who have always been quick to respond to any maintenance issues.
The current tenants are all working professionals between 30-34 years old and we would be looking for somebody at a similar life stage, but are open to finding a new housemate who will be a good fit for the house :) The current housemates are Jenny, working in cancer genetics for the NHS, Kate, a science writer at the University, and Vicky and Ines who are both post-docs in biology at the University - but we are also open to non-scientists! 😅 Outside of work we are all fairly active and enjoy spending time on travel, sport (running, netball, yoga...), going to gigs, playing music and putting on events, but also just having chilled evenings or a drink at the pub. Although this makes for busy schedules, we still manage to catch up regularly over dinner and spend time together outside the house from time to time, either going for a drink or to an event together. We are looking for someone who will fit into this dynamic, who knows how to live respectfully in a shared home, and who is keen live somewhere with a friendly atmosphere so that the house feels like a home :) We are ideally looking for somebody who is looking to stay in the house on a longer term basis, ideally for a minimum of 6 months/1 year.
If this sounds like the type of house share that you're looking for, feel free to send us a message with some details about yourself and we can see about organising a visit (happy to do this by Zoom, too). We are hoping to do all visits in the first two weeks of September, to sign a new contract by 30th September.
