The house - Beautiful, tidy, and spacious house, well-kept and well appointed. Big kitchen with brand new dishwasher and washer/dryer (installed Jan 2024), lots of kitchen storage space. Shared lounge with 2 sofas, table and chairs, and TV, sunny and bright. Huge back garden with table and benches, fire pit, string lights, patio heating lamp, and barbecue grill. There is a basement level bathroom; ground floor has the kitchen, 1 bedroom, the lounge, foyer area with shoe rack and some storage space, and access to the garden. 1st floor has 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. 2nd floor is the en suite bedroom that is available from June 1 - Sept 10.
3 minutes walk from Stepney Green tube station (District and Hammersmith lines) and 10 minutes walk from Mile End station (Central, District, and Hammersmith lines). Also 1 minute walk to bus stop. Very well connected and convenient. 3 minutes walk to Coop and Sainsburys Local. Small convenience store on the same block as the house. Lots of casual eating and coffee places in the neighborhood, and a few nice neighborhood pubs. Neighbors are all friendly and quiet. Hospital day clinic (only open during day, not at night, no A&E or sirens/vehicle traffic) across the street and Queen Mary buildings down the street so there is some foot traffic on the street, but it's really never noisy. Suitable for working or studying from home. And it's super quiet at night.
The room - Huge, sunny, bright bedroom with 2 big windows. Comes with: Large double bed and mattress, Full armoire, Set of drawers, Desk and swivel chair, Couch and Ottoman, Small cabinet/bedside table, Coffee table, Over the door hanging rack, Small drying rack. (For very reasonable price I can leave the things I bought for the room: hanging rack with shoes rack, full length mirror, extra storage shelves, large clothes drying rack, bathroom storage shelves, hanging ivy plants + 2 other plants). Lots of light and space. Built in shelves on 2 walls. Closet nook for hanging rack and storage + storage nook just outside the room for suitcases. The bathroom has a toilet, sink, shower, heated towel rack, and a full window. The room is very quiet at night.
The housemates - all friendly and respectful ladies between 27-30 years old (no gender preference, it just worked out that way). People are mostly doing their own thing but it's very friendly, everyone is happy to chat or have a wine night in the garden. Movie nights or cook dinner together occasionally. Pretty easygoing to either socialise with the other flatmates or do your own thing. There are 4 other flatmates: a fashion editor coming from Amsterdam, one from Germany pursuing a masters at LSE, one from America also pursuing a masters degree, and one is a sports PT from the UK. So a big mix! Everyone is very respectful and tidy, cleans up after themselves in the kitchen, etc. but also very chill, no issues with having friends/significant others over and that sort of thing. It's a really good vibe.
Looking for someone (couples also welcome! no gender preference. no pets sorry!) who is also mindful and considerate but easygoing to sublet the room, with an option to sign on to the lease for the full year when renewal comes up in September.
