COSY DOUBLE ROOM – SHORT-TERM WINTER LET

Availability: November/December to around end of March initially

Let type: Short-term winter sublet, with a possible extension depending on my travel/work plans for next year

I’m looking for a lovely person to sublet my cosy double room in my peaceful canal-side home in Haggerston while I’m travelling over the winter. The plan is initially for a short-term let, ideally from November/December until February/March, although there may be the possibility of extending beyond that depending on how my work plans for next year shape up.

The flat is a really lovely place to call home, and I’d love to find someone who will enjoy it as much as I do :)

THE FLAT

The flat is modern, beautifully maintained and lovingly decorated, with a fantastic canal-side location.

There’s a bright open-plan kitchen/living room with modern appliances, TV, WiFi, a large dining table and a big comfy sofa. Skylights and full-length glass doors open onto a flower-filled balcony overlooking the canal, with lovely views across London.

The available room is a cosy double bedroom - the bathroom is shared with one other flatmate.

LOCATION

The flat is less than a minute from Haggerston Overground, with excellent bus connections, including night buses into Central London.

There’s secure bike storage in the building, with rental bikes directly outside. Yoga studios, restaurants and bars are right downstairs, while Tesco Express and Lidl are just a couple of minutes away.

London Fields and its open-air swimming pool are nearby, as are Hackney City Farm, Broadway Market, Columbia Road and Brick Lane. Shoreditch and Dalston are also easily accessible.

YOUR HOUSEMATES

While I’m away, you’ll be living with Linus (33), from Switzerland, who is doing a master’s programme, and Jonathan (39), from Canada, who is a lawyer.

Both are really friendly, warm and considerate people who take pride in keeping the flat clean and tidy. They’re easy-going and respectful, and share the kind of values that make a house feel like a proper home: being thoughtful of one another, looking after shared spaces and balancing a friendly atmosphere with everyone’s need for privacy and downtime.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m friendly, warm and sociable. I love good food, travelling, being in nature, the gym, yoga, walking along the canal, markets and reading. My biggest passion is surfing.

I often travel and sometimes work abroad seasonally. When I’m away for longer periods, I sublet my room. I’m very respectful of shared space and always mindful of other people’s routines and privacy.

THE HOME & FLATMATE VIBE

Home for me is a little sanctuary from the busyness of everyday life — somewhere to come back to, switch off, recharge and feel at ease. I’d love to find someone who feels the same and will look after the room and enjoy being part of the home while I’m away.

It’s lovely to have a friendly atmosphere -0 cooking together, having a chat in the kitchen or sharing a glass of wine -0 while also being comfortable doing our own thing and giving each other space and quiet time.

I’m hoping to find someone kind, mature, respectful and easy-going, who is naturally clean and tidy, considerate of shared spaces and takes pride in keeping their home nice.

Friends and partners are very welcome from time to time. I’d just like to keep the flat feeling like a peaceful home rather than somewhere with lots of people coming and going or a regular party flat.

Ideally, you’ll work outside the home for at least some of the week, although working from home 1-2 days is absolutely fine.

There are three bedrooms in total, so you’ll be sharing with Linus and Jonathan. I’d love the flat to continue feeling like a genuinely friendly, relaxed home where everyone can unwind, recharge and have their own privacy.

Bills: £150 per month

Council tax: Band D

If you’re looking for a lovely place to call home over the winter and appreciate a warm, respectful and relaxed household, I’d love to hear from you :)
