My house is old-fashioned, creaky and more or less functional, just like I am! I know it is safe, quiet and, I hope, comfortable (, if somewhat cluttered.,) and welcoming.
It's a 3 bed mid terraced house in Woodley. There is street parking and the house has hallway storage for a bicycle. I rent out the room under the UK Govt. Rent a Room Scheme and offer a a standard Lodger's Agreement. The only bathroom and the kitchen are shared by the student and me.
All of my previous lodgers were studying at Reading University and left amicably at the end of their studies. My most recent lodger, a PhD student, still visits me often and can provide a reference.
I'm flexible about a moving-in date. I understand that many students are planning ahead for the next academic year.
I'm also open to a discussion about a discount on the rent for a student who is interested in a Mon-Fri. lodgers agreement.
I'm a pensioner (female) and the owner/occupier. I'm the only other person living in the house. I enjoy cooking and do some voluntary work. I spend a lot of time on my laptop.
I expect my next lodger to be able to provide personal references, pass a credit check and prove right to rent in the UK.
