I’m looking for a sociable, considerate, eco-aware housemate to share with me in my house in Robertsbridge.

It’s a detached modern house, with a lovely garden. There’s a kitchen, lounge, dining room, bathroom, additional downstairs toilet, and three double bedrooms. (I have my own ensuite shower and basin so main bathroom mostly for your belongings) It has a heat pump for water and heating and no gas. Not currently got broadband, but happy to connect and can get decent speeds here.

Robertsbridge is a wonderful place with a vibrant village community with plenty happening. It has local shops for basics, café, pubs, Indian restaurant and various other amenities including GP and vet!

The house is just 5 minutes’ walk to Robertsbridge station, where you can get direct trains to Hastings and London. There is also a beautiful meadow 5 minutes from the house, and many public footpaths through beautiful countryside.

The room for rent faces south and gets a good amount of natural light. It’s currently just got a double bed – but can be available either furnished or unfurnished. There’s also space in the room for chest of drawers, wardrobe and desk.

I’m very open to sharing with someone who has a (well-behaved) dog! The house is on a very quiet street with easy on-street parking, and the garden is enclosed.

I’ll be using SpareRoom’s standard lodger agreement (not a tenancy agreement) as I’m a live-in landlord. I will share the agreement with you early on, so you can be sure it works for you. I will also be using their reference and credit checking service.

A bit about me: I’m a gardener and nature lover, queer, 49, and love dancing – especially lindy-hop. I moved to Robertsbridge two years ago, having lived in London for many years before then. I’m vegetarian and would ideally love to share with a fellow veggie or vegan, but this isn’t essential.
