BIG double room in beautiful artsy home!!
We are looking for another quiet and friendly long term housemate, ideally looking for a one-year stay.
This calm and lovely flat has 3 bedrooms in total.
The entire flat is clean and very artsy! It has double glazed windows, gorgeous tall ceilings, and wood floors throughout. You'll be sharing with me: a history student called TeeJay, and Rhea, who works as a receptionist in Chelsea.
There are 3 rooms in total here (one available to rent). Sadly there is no living room/lounge area- but we do have a rooftop area and small kitchen as a communal space. However, the tall ceilings and big windows make the flat feel spacious and give the space a lot of natural light, as well as so much character.
Your ROOM
Your room faces out onto a busy road, with a fabulous roof top balcony space. it is central London so even with the double glazing the road can be pretty noisy so you might sleep better with ear plugs. Your Ikea bed is a double bed, but if you want more space in your room the bed can be slid into position to be a single to give you more floor space. If you have your own bed or mattress or other furniture - that is not a problem, we can chat about selling/getting rid of any current furniture you don't want. There is a big wardrobe and plenty of space ontop of the wardrobe for additional storage. Please note: the price advertised is for single occupant as that's our preference - but if you are a couple or someone with a pet and are happy to pay more towards bills etc. we will stay open minded. The most important thing is personality/fit and that we all feel good in and love our home.
Almost all bills are included.
Highlights
- You'll share with clean, mature, easy going, warm and considerate flatmates
- Very central and safe location, huge windows, tall ceilings, well insulated flat with nice breeze in summer.
- Double Bedrooms with lots of storage and fold out sofabeds for guests
- Great natural lighting
- Kitchen appliances - microwave, slowcooker, nutra-bullet, multiple coffee making devices etc etc
About us:
TJ: Hi Im "TeeJay" (TJ) and I have been living in London and in this flat for over 15 years now. I'd say I'm a quiet and considerate creative who loves a very clean tidy flat, esp. because my schedule (and my room) can get messy at times. I enjoy connecting with friends and nature, painting, reading, and travelling. Because I'm personable, you might think I'm an extrovert- but I'm not. I need lots of quiet/downtime. You are most likely to find me in the library or museum.
Rhea: Hi! I'm Rhea, and I enjoy sharing this lovely flat with my friend TJ. I work as a receptionist in Chelsea, and my work schedule means I'm often out of the flat in the mornings or evenings. I love baking (which means there's usually a sweet treat to share at all times), crocheting, going for walks and visiting museums with friends. I'm looking forward to making firm friends with our new flatmate!
What about YOU?
If you are studying and/or working it would be great to hear some specifics about your university, course, reasons for choosing it, the company you work for are your hours FT/PT and what is a typical day or week like, ie the schedule, where is your office, do you ever work from home, etc. What are your interests, how often do you like to cook, do you have a partner/ boyfriend/girlfriend, do you play any musical instruments or sports? What is your preferred way to share responsibilities in a flat like buying communal items, regular cleaning or admin tasks? Why are you moving? What makes you great and sometimes challenging to live and share with?
And/Or please add anything else that you are comfortable sharing or asking!
If you'd like me to send additional pics/videos via whatsapp, please first send a message with info about yourself via spare room if possible.
Moving In
The room is £1060 per month including most bills. By living here, in W2 (zone 1), you'll save a lot of money on travel -which obviously gets pricey outside of central London. The move in date is 1 Jan, with a one year written agreement. To move in you'll pay: “first, last and deposit” ...this means 3 x £1060 … So you pre-pay the first month’s rent up-front of £1060 for 1 January - 1 February 2026, plus you would pre-pay for your last month’s rent of £1060. In addition to this you’ll pay a £1060 deposit, but this would be returned to you after you move out.
The reason for “first, last and deposit” is because otherwise we've noticed people would rather not pay their last month’s rent and “ride out” their deposit - but that is not what the deposit is for. On top of this, there is an additional £40 non refundable admin fee. The fee is paid before any other funds, and helps with fraud checks and it lets me know who is or is not truly “serious” about the room. (Everyone who views it tends to say they want the room - but people can say all sorts of things, so the admin fee shows us if you are truly serious, before we promise to "hold" the room for you.)
Christmas time is a strange time to look for a flatmate- but I will be open to doing viewings most days as we are keen to find the right person asap.
I hope all of this makes sense but feel free to ring me on Whatsapp for a chat, more videos, or online viewing.
Best of luck with finding your new home!
Many Thanks,
TeeJay & Lizzie
