My housemate sadly needs to move back to the U. S., so I'm looking for a thoughtful housemate to take over her room. I'm not ready to leave this place yet. We've loved living here and know we got really lucky with it!

Unlike some of the other flats we looked at (there were some stonkers!), everything here... just works. We have a great landlord, whose father is the handyman, and they're always just a message away if anything needs sorting.

The flat is on Argyle Street, a few doors down from a small Sainsbury's and right by Kelvingrove Park. We're above a restaurant, but thankfully can't hear any noise from it. We're roughly a 20-minute walk from the university gym and pool, and about 20 minutes from Lidl.

The room

Your room is fairly enormous and is the larger of the two bedrooms, with plenty of storage. The trade-off is that it's also the room facing the street, so there's a bit more traffic noise.

The flat has a huge shared living room. The kitchen and bathroom are more compact, but they've both been finished well, and the kitchen has a good amount of surface space to work with.

The housemate

I'm really keen to find the right person for the flat. I'm not looking for a particular type of person, and I don't want you to feel like you're just squeezing yourself into someone else's home. This needs to be yours as much as mine.

That said, there are a few things that matter to me. I'd love the new housemate to be considerate, keep the shared spaces tidy and clean, and — most importantly — have a good understanding of their own boundaries and be comfortable communicating them. Good communication makes pretty much everything else easy, so I really value it :)

As for me, I like having my own space to retreat to, and I'll alternate between being fairly chatty if you're in the mood, and being less social while I recharge. I sing and play guitar, which could admittedly be annoying for some people. (My current housemate, however, likes to come and listen and make requests, so hopefully it's not too awful!)

I read fairly widely and write fiction. I'm definitely a geek at heart.

If you're into fitness, do let me know. It's absolutely not essential, but I find it a little easier to motivate myself when my housemate is active too.
