After two and a half years, my current lodger is moving into a tenancy with a close friend. So, from November 2026* (or sooner) an opportunity to rent here becomes available - (see notes below).

This would ideally suit a mature person looking for a quiet and peaceful place to live, work or study. All bills are included.

I am a live-in landlord, and this is my main and only home. However, I am often away during the week due to work, travel and time spent with my partner, returning at weekends (often on alternate weekends) to be with family and friends who live nearby.

Given my travel commitments and lifestyle, you may well have the entire house to yourself for much of the time. You will have access to two reception/living rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, conservatory and, of course, full use of the garden. There is also ample off-road parking available on the driveway.

You should think of this as an entire home to live in, rather than the rental of a room.

The three-bedroom house is well maintained and has a calm feel, being located in a quiet, unadopted private road in the Bassett Green area of Southampton.

It is within easy reach of the M3 and M27 motorways, as well as the University of Southampton campus. It is also close to bus routes serving the city centre and hospital. Swaythling railway station is within a 10-minute walk, while Southampton Airport Parkway station and Southampton Airport are also nearby.

My current lodger has an electric vehicle, and we have a separate arrangement to cover the additional fuel charging costs. I changed tariff so that we can take advantage of lower energy prices between midnight and 4am.

The property has all the usual amenities, including fast broadband. If you are unsure about anything or would like further clarification, just ask.

The house is fully furnished and has an alarm system, which you will be expected to use.
