Hello hello! Abd and I are looking for a flatmate to join us in our lovely house in South Tottenham.
We’re two professionals in our thirties, both Syrian, living with our cat. I’m doing a PhD at Goldsmiths while working for an NGO and mostly work from home, and Abd makes jewellery and works at a café. We’re both pretty chill and easy-going, and we’re looking for someone similarly minded to join us.
The room is a large double bedroom with its own toilet right next to it, so it’s almost en-suite. The house has a garden, living room and a functioning, well-equipped kitchen. We’ve recently got a new freezer and new boiler, and the landlord is responsive. The person joining us would also be on the contract.
The house is very close to the canal and the marshes, so there’s lots of green space nearby and it’s a lovely area if you like walking or cycling. It’s also super well connected, with easy access to the Overground, Victoria line, Piccadilly line and plenty of buses.
There’s a Lidl very close by, as well as lots of local Turkish shops and other useful places on the high street.
It’s a queer-friendly, multicultural household, and we’re looking for someone who would enjoy sharing a home rather than just a place to sleep. We’re sociable but also pretty relaxed and respectful of each other’s space.
The rent is £933 per month plus bills. I’m a student, so depending on the new housemate’s circumstances, we may also be able to reduce the council tax.
