We have two beautiful furnished double rooms available in our much-loved Edwardian family home, on a lovely community street with Tooting Bec Common at the end of the road. All bills and council tax are included in the rent subject to fair usage.

This is very much a home rather than a conventional house share. It has been our family home for five years and has recently been renovated while retaining lots of its original character and period features.

With my husband and children now based abroad, I'm looking for two friendly professionals to share the house with me. I commute weekly and expect to be here around three nights a week, so you'll have plenty of independence and space while also having the warmth of a shared home.

The rooms:

Both rooms are generous furnished doubles on the first floor.

The larger front bedroom is a particularly beautiful room, with a bay window, original fireplace, wooden floors and built-in bookshelves.

The second is a bright, characterful double with a large window overlooking the garden and an original fireplace. It is currently being changed from a children's room and will be newly furnished as an adult double bedroom.

The house

The real joy of living here is that you're not just renting a bedroom – you'll have full use of a spacious, relaxed and lived-in home.

There are two living rooms, a large dining area and modern kitchen, two bathrooms with a laundry cupboard with washing machine and dryer in the larger one, and a lovely established garden.

There's a piano, pictures and plants throughout, and even the old coal-chute cellar, which now houses the drinks fridge!

The house is colourful, comfortable and full of character. It isn't an anonymous rental or HMO, and I'm hoping to find people who will enjoy and respect it as their home too.

Location

There is plenty of green space practically on the doorstep.

Streatham Hill station is around a 7-minute walk, Streatham Station (Thameslink) around 15 minutes, and there are frequent buses from the end of the road directly to Brixton (Victoria Line).

It's a genuinely friendly street with a lovely community feel.

Who I'm looking for

I'd love to find two friendly, considerate professionals who are independent and easy-going, enjoy a sociable home but also value their own space, and appreciate living somewhere with a bit of character.

I'll generally be at the house around three nights a week and away the rest, so this should feel like a particularly spacious and relaxed share.

The rooms are available separately, so there's no need to apply as a pair.

Available from the beginning of September for up to one year.

If it sounds like your kind of home, please get in touch and tell me a little about yourself and what you're looking for.
