Hello! We have a double bedroom available in our flat in Sydenham, available early May for 12 months (with option for a renewal).
About the room/flat:
It's a double bedroom at the back of the property - we're on the High Street but have an entrance at the back, so the bedrooms don't get too much noise. The room includes a double bed, wardrobe & lamp.
*See screen grab of wardrobe (our current housemate didn't want all her possessions on display in the ad!).
The kitchen/living room, while at the front, is big and beautiful and has a nice chill vibe.
Landlord is private, South London based himself, and low-maintenance. Everything was new when we moved in a year ago, and we've had no issues really with breakages etc.
Sydenham - the high st is lovely - there's a yoga studio with a vegan/vegetarian cafe attached, an independent book shop, crucially a LIDL, and a very nice local two mins walk away, plus other weird and wonderful Sydenham delights we're still discovering.
Transport wise, we're well served - we're on the Orange line (soon to be Windrush) so it's 10 mins to new cross (the stations a five min walk away) and 25ish to east - and we get overground as well so it's pretty easy into London Bridge etc.
About us:
We're in our late 20s/early 30s, female; one works in arts administration (Ellen) and one in academic research (Miri). We each work from home maybe 2 days a week from the kitchen/living space (though do have desks in our rooms, so happily flex around meetings etc as needed if we're all wfh the same days). If you're self-employed, or remote, and planning to work from the flat full-time this might not be the best option for you as the room doesn't have space for a desk and we'd like to avoid the living space being a work space 5 days a week.
To reiterate the cliches: we're busy people and we don't put pressure on each other to constantly hang out; that said, we're friends and we've made the flat a home, so we're not looking for a ships passing in the night vibe.
We like: cooking for each other, books, talking over films, theatre, wild swimming, having a little pint, and making hungover pilgrimages in search of a cure (usually bread based).
Bills - including council tax, water, electricity and wifi come to £86.88. We have metered pay as you go gas, and typically this is under £40/pcm; so estimating £12/pcm each, bills ppm are usually in the near region of £98.88.
If you like any of this relatively normal human stuff too, and want to be pals, we're easygoing and pretty easy to live with - don't be disgusting/mean/bigoted and we're probably good - so drop us a message!
