The room is a cosy double room (4.11 x 2.24 m), furnished with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table, and a desk and chair. There is also a built-in wardrobe with a storage cupboard above. The room looks out to north of the city, with a view of the London Eye and the Post Office Tower in the distance.
The flat is in a good location SE17. It is 9 mins to Kennington (Zone 2, Northern Line), 14 minutes to Elephant and Castle (Zone 1, Northern, Bakerloo Lines, overground services), about 27 minutes’ walk to Vauxhall (Zone 1, Victoria Line, National Rail services), and 19 to Oval (Zone 2, Northern Line). In the other direction, I am a minute away from the Walworth Road with Tesco and Morrison's and the East Street Market. Buses are nearby with easy connections to central and east London.
You would be sharing with me, the owner of the flat. I’m an academic at one of the universities in London. I also do some work in the arts more broadly. The flat is an ex-council property, which I have refurbished. There is a large, shared living room/dining area, a separate kitchen, one lavatory and a separate bathroom. There is a small balcony. A cleaner comes once a fortnight. There is a washing machine, central heating, and a dishwasher. Bills (gas and electricity are all fixed)/cleaner/TV licence are all included in the rent. I will present you with a breakdown of these costs when we get in touch. I am still in the process of making some adjustments to the flat and this is reflected in the price at £895 pcm inclusive of all bills/council tax/cleaning/basic communal products. A deposit of £895 is required, which will be held by the Tennancy Deposit Sheme company. I will use a shorthold tenancy contract and a check-in document etc that you can sign etc. We are Council Tax Band B.
I’m looking for a professional or postgrad student, who is easy going and tidy. I have a busy schedule in the week and try to relax and socialize at weekends etc. This is not a ‘party flat’ if you know what I mean. Please be able to provide references. Previous tenant is going abroad to study.
I like cooking (a wide variety of food and flavours etc) and my boyfriend, who lives out of town, comes over every other weekend. I have friends over for food every now and again.
A German, Mandarin, or Spanish speaker would be awesome. LGBTQ+ welcome.
