Hi!
I’m Rihab, a 38-year-old professional musician and music teacher, and I’m looking for a friendly and considerate person to share my home with.
The flat is bright, clean and comfortable, and the room comes furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table, desk/dressing table and chair. The bed and main bedroom furniture are all new.
I’m happy to consider both Monday–Friday lodgers and full-time lodgers. Someone who works mainly from the office would be ideal, although students are also very welcome with a UK-based guarantor.
We'll be splitting only electricity, gas and water bills. This is an environmentally-conscious flat so there isn't going to be massive bills.
Location
The flat is a short walk from Thornton Heath and Selhurst stations, around 25 minutes' walk from Norwood Junction, and is 20 minutes by bus to East Croydon on the 50 or 468.
It’s a convenient location for getting into central London as well as Croydon.
A little about me and the home:
I’m a professional musician and music teacher. I normally teach during school hours on weekdays and occasionally go out to perform.
I do have work areas within the flat, but they aren't next to the bedroom. My instrument is the oud, which is a quiet one, and I don't practise late in the evening.
I’m friendly, respectful and fairly quiet. I enjoy having a warm, friendly atmosphere at home, while also appreciating that we both need our own space and privacy.
I like keeping the flat clean and comfortable. As long as you tidy and clean up after yourself, I’m happy to take care of the deeper cleaning of the shared areas and provide the usual cleaning products.
There isn't a separate living room, so I want to be upfront about that. The bedroom is a good size, though, and if you'd like a small sofa and coffee table in the room, I'm happy to arrange that with you.
The main house preferences are simply no overnight guests and avoiding heavy cooking after 10pm, so that the home stays peaceful for both of us.
I shared flats in London for around 11 years before finally getting my own place, so I know what it's like to be both the person moving in and the person sharing their home! I'm hoping to find someone nice who will feel comfortable here rather than it feeling like they're simply renting a room.
If you're interested, send me a message telling me a little about yourself, what you do, your usual working/study pattern and what you're looking for, and we can take it from there.
Happy room hunting!
Rihab
