LARGE DOUBLE ROOM WITH PRIVATE BATHROOM | TOOTING BROADWAY
Bright and spacious double room with a private bathroom in an owner-occupied home.
The house is 4 mins walk from Tooting Broadway (Northern Line), with quick access to Central London, and 1–2 mins from St George’s Hospital. Tooting railway station is around 10 mins away, with plenty of bus routes nearby.
The house is also home to two very friendly cats, who firmly come as part of the package - so I’m looking for someone who genuinely enjoys living with pets, rather than just tolerates them.
THE ROOM
• Queen-size ottoman bed with built-in storage
• Large 5-door wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside tables
• TV
• Approx. 11’8” x 10’6”
• Private bathroom directly next to the room - effectively an en-suite, as I have my own
• Garden access via a spiral staircase off the room, for your sole use
THE HOUSE
Set over three floors, with:
• 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
• Large open-plan living/dining space
• Recently fitted kitchen with integrated appliances and pretty much every gadget imaginable
• Separate office/second reception room, ideal for working from home
• Garden and roof terrace
• Cleaner for 4–5 hours a week, including changing bedding
• On-street permit parking
• Spare rooms that may be available when you have visitors
The photos/video were taken late last year for a home-swap platform, when the house had been cleared of most evidence of being lived in. It’s lived-in now, particularly with the cats and there’s a peloton.
THE CATS
Winston Churchill and Toto Wolff are two very friendly young rescue cats. I’m very much a dog person, but they’re basically dogs in cat form — affectionate, playful and very sociable.
They have free run of the house, although you’re welcome to keep your bedroom door closed if you’d prefer them not to come in.
I’m an early riser, but in practice, whoever is in the kitchen first usually gives them their wet food.
WHO I’M LOOKING FOR
• Working professional or mature/postgraduate student who is tidy, respectful and independent.
• I work in investment management.
• It’s a friendly, relaxed home with plenty of space for independent living, but I also want it to feel like your home, not just somewhere you’re renting a room.
• Single occupancy preferred, although I may consider a couple at a higher rent.
• Smoking is fine outside only — there’s both a garden and roof terrace.
A LITTLE ABOUT YOU
If you’re interested, it would be great to hear:
1. Why you're looking for a room, where you're currently based, and how long you're looking to stay (please note the minimum term is 3 months).
2. Age, What you do for work or study
3. How often you work from home
