Hello everyone,

First a bit about us:

We are Sid and Sophie looking for a third flatmate who we are hoping is easy going, laidback and also cheerful like us :)

Sophie is 19 years old and will be starting her traineeship at BBC. Originally from South Africa but immigrated to UK two years back, Sophie loves being creative. This involves reading, writing poetry, cooking and general curiosity about the world around "her" . Sophie also loves hiking and her idea of a good time with friends is a nice cuppa and a good chat. She would like to live with someone responsible and companionable.

Sid is 34 years old and is currently working as a researcher at University of Manchester. He is from India but has been living in Europe for the last ten years, six of which were spent in Estonia [a wonderful country in North-East Europe- A country he cannot stop talking about as he loves it so much over there :) ] where he did his PhD.

Sid is also easy going, laidback, meditative (and also a bit spiritual), loves cooking and since he can work remotely, he travels a lot. In the last four months, Sid has been all across Eastern Europe.

We both would prefer living with our flat mates like family and would prefer a friend as opposed to just having a flat mate.

It would be the first time Sophie would be doing a flat share but Sid has been living in flat shares for the last ten years.

Of all my years living with flat mates, Sid has done many things with them such as hiking, cooking together, playing boardgames, taking random trips and booking random Airbnb's etc. In general, having a nice time is important (but nice time for both of us is definitely not in a club or loud parties with alcohol.

So now about the flat. This is a wonderful flat on upper Chorlton road close to Morrisons, Unicorn and all the wonderful things that Chorlton generally has to offer. The easy walking distance to the Chorlton water park is definitely a bonus for all nature lovers. The flat has a balcony (pics attached) with a wonderful view.

Right now, the rent of the flat after negotiations with the agency is 1350 Pounds. Sid would pay 510 pounds from that because his room is bigger and en-suite. Sophie would be paying 440 pounds for the larger double room. So, the available room is a cute double room which is for 400 pounds.

The specifics of this room are as follows:

CUTE SMALL DOUBLE ROOM - 400 Pounds

This is a cute smaller double room (it is not big but not small either). The current tenant has recently moved out. So, there is a possibility to move in already now if you wish to. We can discuss the logistics with the letting agency.

The furniture there can be kept but the current tenant will sell it. The chest of drawers and the bed side table together cost 70 Pounds. If you do not like the furniture, I can ask her to take it with her in which case you can feel free to do whatever you please with the room :)

The letting agency needs deposit (exact amount I can confirm after asking them) and a guarantor and a credit check. Both of us have to do it as well as part of the new contract.

The bills currently come to 90-120 pounds per month per person and then there is a council tax which amounts to roughly around 83 pounds per person. Me and Sophie would be paying this once the ball starts rolling as we are both working professionals. If you are a student, then you would not be paying this.

SOME IMPORTANT DETAILS

1.) With the new contract, we would have to discuss amongst ourselves how to set up the gas, electricity, water, internet and council tax bills. Right now, the system was that one person would pay all the bills and immediately after, we would pay our share to that person. We can have a similar system or something else. Open to any suggestions.

2.) This point applies for Sid. Although, Sid likes the flat and would like to stay in the flat as long and as much as possible since, there is a slight (very slight) possibility of Sid moving out in November/December. If this does happen, then of course, he will inform everyone and would help in finding a suitable replacement. Just wanted to be honest about this. May be this happens, maybe not.

Any other questions, just ask.

PS: The agency would ask us all to sign a 12 month contract. Make sure you are comfortable with this before getting in touch.
