Walworth is a friendly and vibrant area, with Burgess Park (15min walk) and the Thames (30 min walk) near by. There are several larger to smaller supermarkets nearby, as well as specialist shops, butchers and fish mongers. Additionally, East Street Market is just around the corner. There are plenty of good restaurants and pubs around as well.
