My lovely housemate is sadly moving out, so I'm looking for a friendly, considerate lodger to take over the second bedroom in my gorgeous two-bedroom flat in Crouch End.
The room is £1,020 per calendar month, plus bills (typically around £250 per month, including a brilliant cleaner twice a month). It's a rolling lodger agreement and I'm ideally looking for someone who'd like to stay for six months or more, although I'm always happy to have a chat if your circumstances are a little different.
The flat is bright, spacious and full of character, with high ceilings, a huge kitchen and a large living room that's perfect for relaxing after work. It's a calm, clean and easy-going home rather than a party house, with everything you need including a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.
There's also a private garden at the back. I'll be honest - gardening isn't really my thing, so it's a little wild and unloved but it's a nice bonus to have some outdoor space, especially in the warmer months.
Transport-wise, it's a great spot – around 10 minutes by bus to Finsbury Park, with the bus stop just a four-minute walk from the front door (or an even quicker Lime bike stint). Harringay and Hornsey stations are also about a 15-minute walk away.
There's also a 91 bus stop a few minutes away in the opposite direction, which takes you straight into central London via King's Cross, St Pancras, Euston, Russell Square, Aldwych, Charing Cross and Trafalgar Square.
The room itself is a bright, furnished double with lots of natural light and a relaxing feel. It comes with a comfy double bed and wardrobe. The chest of drawers in the photos won't be staying, but there is a small desk and practical office chair available if you need a decent work-from-home setup a couple of days a week. The space is ideal if you're hybrid working, and I'm looking for someone who works from the office at least part of the week, as the flat suits that rhythm best.
You'll be living with me – a down-to-earth Aussie working as a consultant in the charity sector. I'm into music, films, dancing, baseball, kayaking, travelling and the occasional pint. I'm out and about a fair bit, but I really value coming home to a calm, friendly, easy-going space. It's nice to have a chat over a drink or a cuppa now and then, while also feeling completely comfortable doing our own thing.
You'll also be sharing with Gimlet, my quirky but very lovable black-and-white indoor cat. She's a little shy at first, but an absolute wonder once she's decided you're one of her people, so being cat-friendly is a must.
I'm looking for someone mature, clean, considerate and easy to live with. Ideally you're a professional who's at a similar stage of life, works from the office at least a few days a week, and is looking for a home rather than just somewhere to rent.
I'm pescetarian, so while meat itself isn't a deal breaker, I'd ideally like someone who isn't cooking it constantly. It's more about how it's cooked and stored than anything else. Flexitarians are very welcome!
Sadly, no couples or additional pets.
If this sounds like your kind of home, I'd love to hear from you. Drop me a message telling me a little about yourself, what you're looking for, your ideal move-in date, and anything else you think might be useful. Viewings will be taking place over the next couple of weeks, and I'm looking forward to meeting the right person.
