Double room:
£190pw (en suite)

We are currently looking to let a substantial room/living space in the basement of our family home. This is a beautiful modern space, accessed via the main kitchen and within five minutes walk of the centre of Chichester.

The room is furnished with a super king size bed as well as bedside tables, a bookshelf, a small sofa, drawers, hanging rail and desk. Bedding is not included.

There is a separate bathroom on the same floor with toilet, bath and shower. Please note that the shower is handheld rather than overhead.

The space is down a flight of stairs in the basement and accessed via a door in the family kitchen. The space is not locked.

There is an additional room in the basement which is a music room - our sons do like to use this room sometimes but this would of course be with your permission. In addition to this, the main circuit boards and gas meter etc are located in the basement so occasionally we would need access to these.

There are currently four people living in the house permanently including two children; we also have two older children who live elsewhere but come home regularly to visit.

We are looking for someone who is self sufficient and while we are a very friendly and welcoming family, the ideal person would be someone who is looking for a space which is almost entirely separate from the rest of the household.

We have also have a very friendly dog.

Because we are a family with children, our preference is for a single occupant (likely female) who is quiet and respectful. We would not be able to allow visitors to stay overnight in the property.

There is no shared living room but there is ample space for you to relax in your living space downstairs. You would be welcome to prepare and eat food in the family kitchen.

While the space is entirely separate from the rest of the house, it is essential that you are a clean, polite and considerate person.
There is likely to be plenty of the usual family noise and bustle in the evenings but the house is much quieter during the day if you’re working from home.

The living space is clean and modern and we would ask that it to be well cared for and respected.

We do have off street parking but this is usually in use by us. There is on street parking which is payable between the hours of 9am-5pm with online permits; street parking is free after 5pm in the evening and on Sundays.

The room is available for an initial 3 month period from the beginning of April and ideally for longer.

Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss this further.

Potential applicants would need to be able to provide at least two references including one from a past/current employer.
